Due to the sudden attack Linri panicked. He had let his guard down and there was no way that he could react in time. If he had even seen it a second before it had happened he would be able to use his [Fire Shield], alas he didn't have that second.
[Fireball]
He created a fireball right next to his face where Natsumi bit him turning her head into ashes. The fireball materialised right on her face and encased it but that meant he was not spared by it either. Half of his face had burnt as a result. It hurt like hell but he had been through worse so it was not important. It was a blessing (curse) to have this much pain tolerance sometimes.
Anyway, the important thing was the fact that she had bitten him right on his carotid artery. For those who don't know the carotid artery was a vein located in the neck and pumped blood to the brain. It was usually where people took pulses if they can't feel any in the wrist.
With each heartbeat, another fresh batch of blood spurted. If he could not stop it he was going to die of blood loss. The only solution he could think of was cauterizing the wound.
He raised the temperature of his hand to the max and pressed on his neck with it.
*Sizzle*
Linri could smell the burning flesh and blood. He felt nauseated. The world around him was spinning. His eyes gradually got darker. Everything around him became blurry. Was he really going to die here? Heck no! He refused to die like this! He hadn't even gotten his revenge yet!
He looked at his hand covered with his own flesh and blood. He wanted to wash it off but there wasn't any water around. He tried to vomit but nothing came out of his stomach. He had really done it now. He was going to die. He should have guessed it. Udcek wouldn't leave anyone alone. She must have been an agent he planted to assassinate him when he put down his guard. He couldn't help but laugh looking at the irony of the situation. Whenever he tried to help someone, he got punished for it.
It was almost as if the gods were telling him to be evil. There was no good in becoming a hero. If he was not involved in the opening ceremony he wouldn't have driven James away. If he decided to let Jaime come with him they still would have been friends. If he had not tried to help Natsumi he wouldn't be in this situation. It always resulted in him getting hurt. Just what did he do to deserve this! Just because he played a stupid online game he had to suffer for it. Fuck that!
He didn't even have any strength to lift his arms up. It was fine, he just needed to sleep it off. This had to be a dream there was no way that this was reality. So he closed his eyes and let himself be embraced by the darkness.
