Chapter 203 - Dark (1/2)
(Jane's PoV)
”I-I'm just a young boy! I'm nothing more than an ordinary boy!” He hastily said, nearly shouted with his eyes forced to wide open in fake determination.
Boy, your reaction is too strong for an ordinary boy.
But, it was kind of cute, honestly. What he was didn't seem important for me. I could always ask Tom later. As long as he didn't harm Tom, I could turn a blind eye to him.
However, he didn't seem harmless either. The way he was just standing here in a big ball shape and could agitate Tom's spiritual power was proof enough that he was not ordinary being.
No, it wouldn't do.
”Kid, why are you scaring those poor spiritual powers? Don't you know your action can hinder Tom's growth? I'm sure you both know each other, right?”
Putra seemed fl.u.s.tered with my questions. He fidgeted a bit with his eyes looking at everywhere but my eyes.
”Putra, I'm not trying to scold you. Don't be afraid. Let's talk.” I smiled at him warmly. I sat cross-legged in front him with my eyes stared right at him in what I thought would be a friendly look. ”I'm sure that you have known that you are surrounded by the aura of death and resentment, yet you don't look like those crazed souls or ghosts that were overwhelmed by the aura. However, if you don't control yourself, you'll end up being a hindrance for Tom. I'm sure you don't want that, right? After all, I think it's not because he doesn't notice your presence here, but it's because he knows you that he doesn't bother about you here in his consciousness.”
As for me, he must be too focus on his training that he didn't notice my presence here. It sounded ridiculous, but I honestly couldn't think of anything else as the explanation.
But, it worked the best for me since I didn't want him to know that I was here.
I watched as guilt covered the unique boy's face. I sighed. ”Don't you know how to control your power in someone's consciousness? You can either control your power, or help him. Combining both of your power can create something big, you know?” I softly talked to him.
Putra was looking at me curiously. He was peeking through his lashes as his head lowered in guilt. ”How…can I do that?” He asked in a low voice. ”You…you're not going to hit me?” His voice trailed off as if he was afraid I would hear what he was saying.
I arched my eyebrows in confusion. ”Why would I do that?”
Putra looked at me with a confused look all over his face. Shouldn't I be the one feeling confused here? Why did he say it as if I usually hit him in any situation?
”Say, Putra, do you mistake me for someone else?” After all, his fear for me was not normal. It was my first time seeing him, so why would he look at me as if I was a bully?
The boy blinked at me with fear and confusion reflected in his eyes. ”Look at me carefully. Do I look like the bully in your mind?” I scooted closer to him.
