Chapter 202 - Strong Reaction (1/2)
(Jane's PoV)
I was familiar with how a consciousness looked like; bright with spiritual power went to and fro. Normally, the movement of the spiritual power would be calm and smooth and in only two ways. But, the way I saw Tom's consciousness… it was a mess.
The spiritual power inside moved randomly and fast. Just seeing it alone could make my head hurt. No wonder he would have a hard time manipulating them.
But, what caused them to be agitated like this?
I floated down from where I was standing while looking at the agitated movement of the spiritual power. My eyes scanned the room and found Tom was lying down on the white floor while gasping for breath with his eyes closed. It seemed like he didn't notice my presence.
On the other hand, Tom was not the only one that I noticed.
I noticed other presence in his consciousness. Squinting my eyes to one direction, I saw a red dot further up ahead. It was really in contrast with the white surrounding, that's why I could easily notice it.
The question was… Did Tom notice it, too?
Cancelling my plan to land on the white floor, I sped up towards the red dot in a flash. Upon closer inspection, I realized the red dot wasn't really small.
It was the size of people's head. It seemed like it was quite a distance from where I appeared to where this red dot was. Red ball, I mean.
Also, was it just me or this odd ball was really trembling?
I frowned as I looked at it closely. This odd red ball, even while trembling, was emitting a strange aura. Was it supposed to be terrifying? If it was, then it succeeded since its presence could make all Tom's spiritual power ran amok.
”Hey.” I poked it lightly with my finger. It felt warm and soft to touch; like a baby's cheeks. I thought it would attack me, but it trembled even more. Instead of feeling terrified, I felt amused with the way this red ball acted towards me.
This red ball didn't seem ordinary, I thought. The fact that it could enter into Tom's consciousness without him noticing it was exceptional enough. What kind of thing was it actually?
”Hey, why don't you change into something that can speak? Staying like an odd ball is seriously not cute.” I said to the red ball while poking it here and there. ”And stop emitting your strange aura. You're making Tom unable to control his power.”
Hearing what I said, the ball trembled even more and attempted to run away. Of course, it failed. I grabbed it with both of my hands, lifted it towards my eye level while ignoring its trembling body.
”Change now, or I'll force you.” I frowned at it. My hands were starting to warm up, ready to burst this ball if it dared to do anything funny.
”I'll change! I'll change!” It shouted hastily after hearing my threat.
One threat and it surrendered itself. Was I that scary? With its ability to stay in Tom's consciousness and disturbed the spiritual power, I thought that it was a remarkable entity. I expected a resistance from this odd ball, actually. Who knew it would surrender itself with just one threat from me?
