25 A shot at the Dark pt 3 (2/2)
He had already formed a plan in order to lull the assassin into a false sense of complacency but he realized that his plan was for naught when he entered the tent and found the assassin waiting for him. In his grasp a crows feather.
”Neat little trick you have” came the gravelly voice of Reaper
”I thought it was quite handy” responded Draig as he realized his opponent was no longer in front of him
”It's a shame it will disappear here” stated Reaper as his knife slid across Draig's throat
He had expected to hear the sound of gurgling but what he instead saw was Crows flying out of the wound as Draig disappeared but his voice began to echo.
”Poor assassin, don't you know the proper way to kill a vampire” came the ominous voice of Draig as feather began to cloud Reaper's vision.
Draig had wasted no time and planted his foot directly in the assassin's stomach sending him careening into the center of the camp in front of everyone who was training.
Goeki was the first out of everyone to regain his baring's from the shock of their target appearing before them and attacked as flames encompassed his body and arcs of flames flew from his blade heading for Reaper.
With this as the signal other began to join the fray, Reaper was a bit impressed with the prowess being shown but he was still faster than the Guilders before him.
Something that needed to be understood was Assassin's were not gifted at direct confrontations but made up with their superior specialty skills. Reaper had surpassed many other's of the same class by maxing out his speed but that speed was becoming null when he found himself surrounded.
'A rookie mistake' thought Reaper as he jumped high into the air but found something odd about the situation until a red gleam had shot through the air.
With nowhere to run Reaper could only look death in the eye as he noticed those cold eyes staring at him from the distance, the Rapier Draig had refined out of blood had pierced through the assassin's body and staked him to the ground gaining a round of cheers from those who had surrounded him.
As the crowd gathered Reaper's body began to emit a vapor when suddenly the area was engulfed in a toxic mist poisoning the crowd. Draig narrowed his eyes as he quickly appeared at the scene and found that Reaper's body was intact for the most part save for his stomach.
He called for Sylvie and ordered for her and Tina to use his stockpile of potions to treat those affected by the last ditch attack while Draig dragged the corpse to his tent to enjoy a meal.
