Chapter 1396 A Tragic Experience (1/2)
Hearing what Louis had said, Taylor folded her arms defensively across her chest as if shielding herself and looked at him with vigilance. ”What do you want me to do?”
Louis was both amused and annoyed by her reaction. He asked, ”If I really wanted to do something to you, do you think you could resist me?”
Ignoring his words, Taylor remained alert. She looked at him fearlessly with big eyes, and her mouth pouted slightly.
'Damn it! Why is she so cute? I want to kiss her!' Louis thought.
Louis swallowed his desire and licked his lips with the tip of his tongue, trying to suppress his urge to kiss her. ”Don't worry. I just want you to check in on a patient,” he explained.
”Really?” Taylor still looked at him guardedly, but she lowered her arms.
”Of course. Why would I lie to you?” Louis asked with a helpless sigh.
He didn't know what he had done to make her react so defensively to him.
Her attitude made him feel like she saw him as a beast.
God knew, though he was already in his late twenties, he was still a virgin!
”Tell me something about the patient! I need to have a basic understanding of the situation,” Taylor insisted adamantly.
She always acted professionally and with a sense of duty in her professional life.
”You have treated him before.” Louis didn't tell her anything more about the patient as Taylor had requested. The patient was Scott, and Taylor might know more about him than Louis did.
Sensing his evasiveness, Taylor seemed to realize who he was referring to. ”Is it Scott?”
”Yes,” Louis curtly answered in a low tone. Obviously, his mood soured at the mention of Scott.
”But hasn't his condition been stable recently? Why would he relapse now? Did he see something or someone that triggered his condition?” Taylor was really worried about Scott, and there was an obviously nervous tone in her voice.
