Chapter 1361 The Death Of Charlie (1/2)
At that moment, Lillian's hands were still trembling.
Then, she raised her phone and roared into the receiver in an almost desperate and fearfully trembling voice, ”Police, help! Jacob Gu, the owner of Tyrone Mansion, wants to kill me!”
In fact, before the three bodyguards had returned to her, Lilian had already called the police.
She realized that what Rosa had said made sense. The three men wouldn't choose to betray Jacob for her sake.
It must be a plot against her.
As a result, Emily lost out on a good night's sleep because of Lilian's antics. Police officers had come and taken Lilian as well as Jacob to the police station.
Emily was so worried for him. In the end, she called Jacob over and over again to find out what was happening.
Jacob kept reassuring her that he was fine and that nothing bad was happening until Emily finally felt relieved. She went downstairs and prepared some delicious food for him, waiting for him to return for dinner.
However, it was already midnight when Jacob reached home. Emily sat holding Emi in her arms, staring at the plates of food on the table, completely distracted. When she saw Jacob enter, she quickly stood up and moved to him before heating up the food as she expressed her concern.
Jacob caressed Emily's hair and said, ”It's so late already. Haven't you had dinner yet?”
Emily was stunned as this had not even occurred to her, and she shook her head. ”No.”
”We have solved the problem of the maid. From now on, you are responsible for cleaning the house. If you feel tired, you can tell the housekeeper, and we can ask him to arrange a former employee to come and do the job.” According to Tim's suggestion, he knew it was better to keep Emily busy. It would be helpful for Emily to shift her attention from Jacob to things that were more immediate and concrete such as cleaning the house.
”Okay.” Emily suddenly smiled as if a thought had occurred to her. She asked, ”Since we have solved the mystery of Darren's man, would he...”
”Lilian doesn't work for Darren.” Jacob hugged Emily again. He soothingly added, ”Now, Tyrone Mansion is safe. Darren's men haven't penetrated our staff.”
”Then who is she...” Emily thought Jacob was just trying to comfort her.
