Jacob looked at him and raised his eyebrows in a mild sign of mockery. ”Come on, your brother is a coward when he is with his beloved one. You haven't made any progress in that avenue, right?”

Louis rolled his eyes at him. ”I'm talking with Emily right now. Why do you have to chip in? Just leave us be!”

Jacob laughed. ”She's your sister, but she is also my wife, so now she's mine. If you want to talk to her, you have to ask for my permission.”

These two men, both powerful in business and often mature enough, were always bickering like two little boys on the playground.

Emily couldn't help but smile tolerantly. She looked at Louis with concern and asked, ”Brother, concerning your illness, you really haven't hidden anything from me, right?”

Louis was surprised by her concern. He glanced at Jacob, indicating with his eyes. ”Emily, it is understandable if you don't believe Jacob. But don't you believe your own brother now? Why would I lie to you? I'll be discharged from the hospital after a week's rest. I'll come to see you then.”

”Okay. Okay.” Emily smiled and said appealingly, ”Of course, I trust you.”
