Without delay, he ran to her side and saw that she was lying in a pool of her own blood. The red pool under her head was slowly but steadily growing. Seeing this, Carlos knelt weakly beside her. With both hands trembling, he held up her head and cradled it in his arms. He couldn't stop shaking.

Can you hear me? Please don't scare me like this.”
