Chapter 1183 Emily Accidentally Hurt Jacob (1/2)

”Emily, what's wrong with you?” Jacob asked with concern.

Emily hid her head under the quilt and gently pointed out of the window.

”Dar... Darren! He is smiling at me with a child in his arms!”

Emily's voice was trembling. It seemed that she was caught in the grip of extreme terror.

Jacob subconsciously looked out of the window. Outside, there was nothing but trees swaying in the strong wind.

”Emily, are you sure you were not mistaken? It's impossible for Darren to have been here at this time!” Jacob replied.

All of a sudden, it appeared that Emily had just recalled something. She quickly jumped out of bed and ran helter-skelter to the baby room. While running, she mumbled hysterically, ”Baron, Baron...”

Jacob had noticed her sudden change in behavior, but he still followed her to the baby room.

As soon as he entered the baby room, he saw Emily looking first at the cradle and then at the bed. After that, her piercing wail of despair tore into Jacob's ears.

”Darren took Baron away again. The baby I saw in his arms just now was Baron! What should we do, Jacob?”

Emily pleaded for answers from Jacob as she grabbed his arm tightly and tears sprang to her eyes.

”Emily, calm down. That's impossible! It's impossible for Darren to have come back now. I am sure the person you saw just now wasn't Darren,” Jacob explained patiently.

Unexpectedly, when Emily heard Jacob's soothing words, she suddenly calmed down. She shook off his arm and stepped back a few steps, looking at him in disbelief.

”You are lying to me! Last time, in order to save Baron, you lost HT Group. You blamed me for not listening to you at that time. So this time, you are not willing to save him, are you?”

Emily scolded him harshly, and the suspicion flooding over her face cut deeply into Jacob's heart.

Jacob wanted to hug Emily, but Emily grabbed a fruit knife from next to her to stop him from doing that. She shouted in a loud voice, ”Don't come near me, you liar! You said you wouldn't blame me for losing HT Group. However, you have clearly been blaming me all along, haven't you?”

Emily's loud voice aroused Beryl from her sleep. She rubbed her sleepy eyes and walked out of the room next door.

”Dad, Mom, what are you...”

Before she finished her words, Beryl saw that her mother was holding a knife and pointing it sharply at her father.
