Chapter 1164 Taylors Visit (1/2)
The majestic sun poured through the cracks in the blinds and awaited entrance into Emily's eyes.
The red, velvet roses danced and swayed on the balcony, inviting everyone with their lush fragrance.
With her sight still in the clutches of the night's glue, she hesitantly rubbed the dreams away and habitually stretched her hand out to the other side of the bed. However, the coldness she felt told her that Jacob had left and she was all alone in the room.
Suddenly, Emily flung her eyes wide open. When she drew her hand back, she realized that her pillow was wet and her body was bathed in cold sweat.
”Jacob...”
she called out for Jacob with a feeble voice. Finding no response, Emily tightly squeezed the soft pillow as she let the tears roll down her eyes. It was just a dream, nothing but a bad dream.
This was yet another morning that she was woken up by a nightmare.
The past few days had been kind to her, but her nightmares were starting to catch up with her again. The mere thought of having to cope with the pain of depression again frightened her.
Although she had been seeing Taylor, her psychologist, Emily could tell that her mental health condition was getting worse.
The sound of her children laughing downstairs broke her away from the negativity that surrounded her. Finally, she found the strength to calm herself down and walk to the bathroom. As she stared at her pale reflection in the mirror, the enormity of the situation fell around her like a ton of bricks. She tried washing it away by splashing cold water on her face.
Emily knew that Jacob had been working day and night just so he could spend more time with her at home. How busy he was determined how badly he wanted to finish his work and come back home to her.
Meanwhile, even though Darren had been lying low, he still had eyes on Jacob and his family. For Jacob to ensure that Darren wouldn't do anything, he had to be strong and vigilant at all times. It was the only way he could give his family a peaceful life.
