Sam's voice was composed, and yet stern. Nora knew that she wouldn't stand a chance if she tried to go up against them on her own, so she feigned an aggrieved expression and said, ”David is the father of my child. I am only here to see him...”

Sam, however, had worked for Jacob for so many years that he was used to unscrupulous women like Nora and their treacherous ploys. None of that was going

or you to accompany me to the Bai Group! You are the wife of the CEO of the Bai Group. Who would dare to question your presence there? Fine! If you are not going to come with me, then I will be staying with you for the next few days.”

Jacob was adamant and he was reluctant to leave anything to chance. Until and unless, Sam and his subordinates were to find Nora again, Jacob was not going to leave Emily's side.

”Jacob, how would that be any different from locking me up in a room?”

Emily did not see the point in living in constant fear as life and its surprises could never been anticipated or predicated by any mortal beings.

”I do not care about that. If you do not want to work in my place, then I will work in your place. But I am not letting you out of my sight.”

As the driver pulled up next to them, Jacob led Emily inside the car.

Emily rolled her eyes at him and shook her head in disbelief as she had no other way of dealing with Jacob's wilful ideas. ”You can be so childish sometimes!” she taunted him.

”So, when do you think you will find Nora?”

Emily's face turned serious.

Nora was no difference from a patient in a psychiatric ward. If she wanted to do something bad, no one would be able to predict her next move. Emily was mainly afraid for her friends, Rita and David.

”I have doubled the security outside David's ward to protect him and Rita so that Nora will never get a chance to get close to him.”

”Okay, that is good.” Emily nodded her head.

”But, perhaps we can do something to lure Nora out of hiding so that we can catch her sooner rather than later.”
