”Will there be a fight?”
”Depends. But first, we need to investigate several places and gather information. White Album, put on your clothes. We'll leave ASAP.”
White Album sighed in regret. She only had less than a day to possess Xu Xiuying's body, but they had to move out for another potential combat. As such, she was mad at whoever and whatever distracted Miaomiao from having sex with her.

Miaomiao's party revisited the stadium first. As soon as they arrived, they found no one.
Everything was empty as if it was deserted. However, litter, such as paper containers, wasted food, and water bottles scattered everywhere on the stand.
”Where is everybody?”
Miaomiao scanned the arena with his Qi sense. Yet, he couldn't find anybody here.
”It's probably closed,” Killer Queen also searched for clues. She visited the betting house, but it was also deserted.
”I'll go ask the peasants around here if they know something,” White Album rushed out of the arena to gather more information from the nearby stores and shops.
Killer Queen and Miaomiao separated and inspected the backstage. Then, they regrouped at the center of the arena 10 minutes later.
She found some clues. It was the tournament diagram that Miaomiao and others had participated in.
In the diagram, Ding Bu won the tournament. Nothing was interesting in there at glance.
White Album also returned with a piece of news. She had asked around, and she found out what had happened after the tournament had concluded.
”I'll go first,” White Album relayed what she had found first. ”Ding Bu won the tournament by a landslide, but during the award ceremony, a shadow enveloped the stadium, and everyone inside disappeared. Only cultivators who were spectating the event from the sky made it out.”
Miaomiao nodded. He had a few suspects in his mind.
The first one was Wang Yun, who was a shadow element user. He used his shadow to teleport around, and he was able to restrain other cultivators with shadow tentacles.
The other suspect was Liu Bian. Since he used to put a bounty on Xie Tian's dead body with a shadow element crystal, he should also be able to use a similar skill as Wang Yun.
Thinking this far, it came to Miaomiao. He thought of Wang Diaochan, who had been tagging along with Wang Yun. She was supposed to be another participant in the tournament, but Miaomiao didn't see her fight.
Something didn't feel right about Wang Diaochan.
KQ placed the tournament diagram on the ground and shrugged, ”I have nothing new. Just a stupid diagram.”
Miaomiao inspected the tournament diagram, searching for her name.
In the diagram, Wang Diaochan met Ding Bu in the semi-final, but the record said she forfeited.

White Album and KQ looked at their master, ”What do you think, Miaomiao?”
Miaomiao closed his eyes and recalled what Wang Yuan and Wang Diaochan acted when they first met. The girl seemed nervous despite having a strong backer, which was not the usual habit of the proud daughter of a 7th-stage cultivator.

That was their next clue. The shadow user might have taken everybody to the underground dungeon under the imperial palace, so Miaomiao planned to raid the palace next.
”This is the imperial palace we're talking about. Can we even enter that place undetected?”
In the imperial palace, thousands of 5th-stage imperial soldiers and 6th-stage generals patrolled the area. Going inside undetected might be impossible.
”White Album.”
”Yeah?”
”Get out of Xu Xiuying's body. Lock her in the guesthouse and come with me in the spirit form.”
