17 Chapter 16 - Lightning (1/2)
As Akainu was informing everyone of what happened, Sora and the women had already arrived at their first island. The island was uninhabited by people from what they could see, but there were plenty of strong wild beasts. A forest covered the who island. At the center of the island, there looked to constantly be a storm occurring. Sora could see lightning falling repeatedly, and wondered what was going on. In his curiosity, he decided it would be best to explore for himself.
Monet originally advised against it, saying they should leave since their goal is the New World to start with anyway. Sora agreed, but he didn't even have a bounty yet. How was he suppose to meet Ace and Sabo without a bounty? Naturally, he couldn't, so he decided to investigate. Walking towards the forest, he came across multiple beasts which he quickly punched out. The difficulty of the island would be no problem for him even if all beats were at the peak of the world.
What surprised him was that he was able to find several strange plants in the forest. Of course, he had seen talking plants and stuff in several anime, but these plants didn't talk. Instead they looked to be communicating with each other by waving their leaves. At first he didn't notice because they looked rather normal, but they grew in number as he neared the center of the island. Now, every plant seemed to do it. He thought they communicating using electric waves, but he couldn't sense any electrical currents leaving or entering the plants.
As the plants grew more abundant, beasts lessened. Moreover, the plants deeper into the island would attack Sora often. Sora was confused because every attack felt like an electric shock, but he never felt any electricity being used. Soon, the attacks grew stronger and more frequent, forcing him to stop. This surprised him as he was already beyond the peak of the worlds power levels. He quickly found out, thanks to Luna, that while he was at the peak in terms of power that didn't mean other things couldn't reach that stage. In fact, others could reach much farther due to special circumstances sometimes. Luna said that after X+ there were plenty of stronger beings who's power would simply be categorized as X+ too. Sora felt the island itself was attempting to stop him, and that it was one of those things.
'Since the island doesn't want me reaching the center, I'll be sure to make it there. After all it seems this island has a lot to do with electricity which means it has a lot to do with me!' Sora thought. He had one trump card left he had never tried before, and now he resolved to use it to reach his goal. Sora took a deep breath and activated his Demon Assault Mode. Immediately, Sora's body was covered in black tattoos with two black spikes jutting outwards from his shoulder blades. Next he activated the devouring power of his body to the utmost and formed a lightning armor around his body.
Having completed his preparations, Sora proceeded to run straight towards the center of the island. His body devoured endless attacks as he pushed forward, sometimes being sent flying backwards before getting up and rushing forward again. Eventually, the attacks slowed as he could see the end of the plants in sight.
Sora marched forward step by step, already numb from the pain. He moved forward solely with his will, he had long gone unconscious. His eyes had long changed into his Towagan, which had evolved once more through this, gaining another black line. This time the line was vertical, and it granted him supreme illusion as well as the ability to see through illusion. Finally, after stepping out of the plants, his body fell to the ground. He still hadn't made it to the center though, he was only halfway there.

Awakened Lightning Fruit LVL Max successfully evolved to become Transcended Lightning Fruit LVL 1: After being baptized by pure electric energy the Awakened Lightning Fruit has evolved to become the Transcended Lightning Fruit. This evolution allows the user usage of pure lightning and energy. Pure lightning will no longer be hurt by armament haki unless it evolves to a higher form. It is also much stronger, will always be blue, and has healing properties as well!

Sora woke up an hour later and grinned after seeing the system messages. He also had known the change in his towagan. It had finally evolved again! Sora looked forward and grew more excited, 'there's still another half to go!' He quickly bought a senzu bean and swallowed it, restoring himself to peak.
After another hour he stood up and looked towards the lightning storm ahead with excitement. Lightning seemed to flash in his eyes as he activated his new Lightning Demon Form and activated his devouring power. The Lightning Demon Form gave him two purple horns and a purple forked tail. His hands turned into dark purple claws and purple lightning currents rushed all over his body. Having made his preparations he rushed into the lightning storm ahead!
Every step forward he was struck by innumerable lightning bolts even fiercer than what he experienced from the plants. He could tell though, that this was still Pure Lightning. Before he had even crossed a fourth of the way, his Towagan involuntarily opened, this time revealing another black tomoe on the top of the vertical line. This tomoe granted him a lightning like Amaterasu. Instead of flames that could burn everything and could never be put out, he got lightning that could extinguish anything and the electric current could never be stopped. Unless of course, the user stops it, that is. However this lightning wasn't particularly strong itself.
Sora put the new ability to the test and created himself a new lightning armor. The helmet had the shape of a wolf while on the back where lightning wings with black tips. His horns, tail and claws still stuck out from his armor, giving the impression of some sort of lightning wolf demon. With this he forged onward, though it barely made the journey any easier. Very soon after he had formed this new armor, the lightning became even fiercer. Still, he struggled forward.
