9 I dont want to be his mistress! (2/2)

”Sweetheart we don't have a choice”, she said softly and placed Rosaline in her embrace.

”No! No!”, Rosaline shook her head and pushed away her auntie. Her tearful eyes were full of denial.

Her auntie sighed. Rosaline was always a kind-hearted person. She never failed to exchange her comfort for her family. But now Rosaline was truly shocked.

That was she was denying it.

Her auntie didn't worry about that because sooner or later Rosaline would come in terms with the reality and accept this relationship. It was just shock that had made her that way.

What was er Auntie worried the most was that what if Rosaline did something to offend that man due to her stubborn behaviour.

After consoling her all she could, her auntie left Rosaline to mend her heart on her own.

And gave her some time for her wounds to heal.

And the following days, Rosaline kept herself closed in her room. She would stay in her bed the whole day, curled up in a ball and would cry herself to sleep. She even stopped eating and lost a lot of weight.

She would hardly come out of her room. Forget about smiling, it had been week since she last talked to them.

Her family members were getting worried about her.

”Did I do the wrong thing by not telling her?”, Jiang asked in his raspy voice.

He had eye bags behind his eyes and had thinned a lot as he was skipping meals for some days.

Deep down he felt all the guilt on himself-on his inability to protect his sister. He had slapped his sister but it was the most hurtful thing he had done in his entire life.

And the grief was eating him alive.

”You didn't”, his mom said in her gentle voice, ”Look what she have made of herself in just a week. At least she lived last year in her carefree manner and happily. If we would have told her sooner, she would have been depressed the whole year”

”But what if she doesn't come out of her shock?”, Jiang was worried, ”Mr Stafford was already very angry at her behaviour the other day. It took me a lot of effort to make him leave without any hard-feelings. We only have three weeks till her birthday. If she still says that she doesn't want to be his mistress...”

”She won't”, his mom said, ”Rosaline is a very sensible and responsible person. She won't be putting her family name at risk”

Jiang was still worried.

At that time Rosaline finally came out of her room and walked down the stairs after a week of drowning herself into depression and self-pity.

There were some consequences of some actions that couldn't be avoided then no matter what.
