6 Chapter 6: (2/2)

Thankfully he didn't see it was me.

I walked past Zavier once again, a grin on my face as I shrugged into the room and presented the food to a bewildered Khole. Nava noticed the meal, laughing and going down to tell her mate of the kidnapping of his food.

Zavier came into the room making Khole tense drastically, not taking the meal from my hands quite yet. Faye seemed annoyed that I was there and disturbing the conversation but Zavier picked her up from the bed and nuzzled her neck.

”Come, Faye. We should leave them alone. Is this okay with you, Khole.” He asks her as she jumped a little from the attention on her. I am suddenly grateful for his suggestion and Faye seems to protest, muttering out the conditions when Khole nods slowly.

He turned away, holding his mate and telling her that I wouldn't harm her. I was happy for the first time in a long time, enjoying how they finally trusted me with the wee witch.

Not just that, but if I did harm her I was sure she'd attack me with her electricity again.

The thought made me s.h.i.+ver.

”Thank y-you.” She shyly took the bowl from me and sighed, sitting down on the desk chair and mixed around the pasta. I turned away to give her some privacy and glanced around the room once again, noticing that the painting I picked up earlier against the wall once again.

What was it she was doing with that thing?

I shrugged off the question, walking over to it and placing it back on the hook on the wall. Cade was growing worried but once I felt her staring at me, all those worries went away.

I had a feeling that she was finally digesting that I wasn't human or any other creature she's ever seen because I noticed her eyeing my horns with curiosity. Normally the sight of them creeps people out but her interested expression has me pleased.

”Thank y-you for the food... D-Did you cook it-t?” She asks me, setting the bowl down when handing me the notepad. I smiled softly at her, taking it from her and scribbling down the truth before handing it back to her.

I noticed that she didn't even eat the meal which was not satisfying in the least bit, but her small laugh distracted me for a moment.

She softly chuckled at the answer to her question and shaking her head at me. ”Levi w-won't be very happy you st-stole his meal,” Khole says with a hint of amus.e.m.e.nt in her voice, the sound causing my smile to stretch on my face.

I took the notepad back from her, jumping onto the desk and sitting beside her and her bowl of unfinished food. Quickly, I wrote down my response and handed it back in hopes for another laugh.

”If you can cook-k better. Next t-time do the c-cooking, not the stealing.” She teases, surprised at the words she used with me.

A prince.

Though I'll let her slide for now...

I hate that I cannot speak without scaring her. It seemed that she is very comfortable with me not saying a word because she does not like Dylan and Dylan is the one who is rude and spits mean words.

Though I am pleased that she is comfortable with my presence rather than another man. It seems like she likes me the most from all the other males.

We stared at each other for a moment before she looked away with pinkness creeping up her cheeks. I smiled down at her again, loving that I had that effect on her.

Cade urged me to have her eat the bowl of food again as I grabbed the bowl and pressed it to her again. She stared down at it before looking at me with an unpleasant look.

”I-I don't want t-to eat.” She murmurs sadly, looking dreadfully hungry when I stared at the bowl, curious about what is wrong with it. I glanced back at her as she gnawed on her bottom lip, only this time it made me worry more.

I scribble on the notepad and held it up to her in question. She seemed to grow tense at my curious question as to why she wouldn't want to eat, but shook her head and avoided eye contact with me and the food.

”It's s-silly.” She mumbles as I got off the desk and knelt down in front of her, writing down that I'd never laugh at her worries. And for once, it was true.

Her purple eyes suddenly seemed so... dead.

The sight not only hurt me but my entire existence. A feeling I'd never think I'd feel in my entire life.

”M-My mast-ter always th-thought it w-was fun t-to make me-e sick with f-food. S-Some days th-the food would be o-okay, b-but s-s-some days...” She stopped talking, looking away from me as a tear ran down her cheek. The sight was like a gunshot to my gut, but I refused to speak or touch her even if I wish to.

The worst part of all this was I knew exactly of her master, Andrew.

The Andrew I knew was kind and joyful so it was hard to understand why he'd do such a thing to her. Though by the look on her face told me it was indeed true, the thought angering me.

I took the bowl, lifting the fork of noddles to my mouth and eating a small bite before offering it to her. She looked at me as if I was crazy, but took it still.

Her purple orbs watched me closely as if waiting for something to happen but when nothing happened, she took a bite of the pasta nearly moaning in pleasure of eating. I felt my jeans tighten around me while she ate quickly like she's never eaten before.

I couldn't help but stare at her, pleased that she was eating now that I've taken a bite of the food for her. She was far too small to not eat another meal and I would happily repeat this process every time she ate as long as she actually digested some food.

It didn't take her long to finish off the bowl of food when she placed the bowl on the desk with a furious blush at realizing I was still watching her. She was such a shy one yet not even hours prior she knocked me out unconscious.

”Are you going t-to do th-that every t-time I eat-t?” Khole asks me softly when I reached for the notepad and wrote down another question. She read it silently before gnawing on her lip once again. ”Y-Yes. I would l-like you to d-do that every time I eat.” She mumbled as I smile brightly and watched her yawn tiredly.

I wrote down and showed her my question about whether she wanted to rest now or for me to remain. She seemed to contemplate this answer but another yawn left her lips before smiling sheepishly at me.

Her smile made everything within me shut down.

”I think-k I should g-go to bed.” She murmurs, standing up and walking over to the door while bringing her finger to her mouth. I quickly jumped off the ground and stopped her from piercing her finger again. ”What-t?” Khole asks curiously when I motioned her to not to, reminding her of the lock on her door. ”Oh... Right-t.” She says clearly embarra.s.sed but happy that I didn't laugh at her.

I walked back to the desk, grabbing her empty bowl and smiled down at her. She held the door open for me, giving me a sheepish smile while waving goodnight. I waved back, watching her close the door behind me as I clutched my racing heart.

What was I going to do...?
