5 Hindrances To Healing Ministry (2/2)
Even Moses with all his dedication, faithfulness and meekness could not enter the promise land as a result of the sin of despise.
Going back to our text in the thirteenth chapter of Mathew, Jesus came to his home town in the Power of the Spirit. His anointing was without measure but their unbelief and despise hindered the release of that anointing.
And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
Matt 13:58
Mathew recorded what happened without telling us why Jesus did not do mighty deeds at home. The same account is in the sixth chapter of the gospel according to Mark.
Mark 6:3-5
3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.
4 But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.
5 And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.
Mathew told us he did not do mighty miracles but Mark told us the reason why he did not do was because he could not do it. Their unbelief and despise caged the power. Jesus had to depend on the Holy Spirit as you have to, if he would succeed.
With all frankness and sincerity, you should hear this from me. 'If Jesus had attempted to raise a dead person in that environment, he would have failed. The reason for failure in healing ministry today is because many try to do what they cannot do even though Bible wisdom tells them not to do it.
Many today do not understand the healing ministry of Jesus. They thought he over-ruled the will of the people. No! The devil does that but not the G.o.d we serve.
I was in a house of one of our church members many years ago to preach at the naming ceremony of a new babe. In the midst of my preaching, I started to say;
'Someone is here whose waist had been chained for many years. The Lord will be freeing you now”
n.o.body responded! I continued since G.o.d uses me in this area, I continued to give other revelations and to pray for other ailments.
Few weeks after the naming ceremony, a huge woman came softly to my office to look for the prophet. Hear her story;
'I was the one you called by revelation, everything was exact. I was just invited to the naming ceremony being a neighbor. As the wife of the Imam (Moslem leader), I could not signify”
She was ashamed. The anointing was on me then and I could have still prayed on the platform of the sovereign will of G.o.d. Now that she was in front of me, I would be foolish to pray without leading her to the Lord.
Hear what she said:
”Man of G.o.d, pray for me. I need to be free but it is unthinkable for me as the wife of a Moslem leader to give my life to Jesus”.
I explained to her the love of Jesus but she was adamant. Then I told her;
”It is unthinkable for my Jesus the savior of the world to heal a fellow who only wants to use him like a spare tyre.”
I closed the chapter. If I had prayed she probably would have been healed because she had faith in me but the purpose of G.o.d would have been defeated.
The Lord placed healing anointing in the church to heal the world with it as they respond to him but once the healing anointing is not in manifestation, it is the responsibility of individual Christian to lead them the to the Lord and stimulate their faith. G.o.d does not heal you so you will have enough strength to serve yourself. The reason for many abuses is because the purpose of G.o.d is not understood by many.
I have seen amazing miracles. I have seen the healing anointing taking abode upon my life and ministry. If I will tell you the truth, it is faith and wisdom that will preserve whatever G.o.d has given you.
Pray this prayer with me. Paul prayed them for the church in Ephesus;
That the G.o.d of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to usward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places.”
Ephesians 1:17-20
