These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

He said similar thing to Timothy, his son and the Bishop of Ephesus;

”Let no man despise thy youth”

1 Timothy 4:12

Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

Moses had a great success in the intercessory ministry in the wilderness church as he led Israelites out of Egypt on their route to the promise land, but the two times his prayers failed to receive G.o.d's honor was when G.o.d and his servant Moses were despised.

And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman. And they said, hath the Lord indeed spoken only by Moses? Hath he not spoken also by us? And the Lord heard it.

a.s.sociate pastors and help ministers should learn from Miriam. Who would have known Miriam as a prophetess or Aaron as an High priest if not for the ministry of Moses. G.o.d tied their destinies to Moses in his divine purpose but they were cutting off the rope of divine linkage with their lips.

Proverb 18:20-21

A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Relations.h.i.+p is vital to greatness and when G.o.d links destinies together, sinfulness and other unethical practice should not be allowed to abort divine plans. Every ministry should be built around Jesus. This is when it will outlive you and not end with your death.

Weak leaders.h.i.+p of Aaron and unnecessary family ties must have caused Aaron to succ.u.mb to the domineering spirit of Miriam – the prophetic choir leader of Israel. There are so many subversion of authority today even in the local churches. This hinders the full manifestation of the power of G.o.d since G.o.d does not put approval on wrong behaviors.

Chronicles 16:9a

For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.

The Lord must have taught Miriam an eternal lesson. We did not hear of her again until her death.

Hear what G.o.d said:

Numbers 12:1-6

And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman.

And they said, Hath the LORD indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the LORD heard it.
