With a bitter smile on his face, Magna silently thought, 'I can't believe I met one of Cinder's future team mates…'

With mint green hair and beautiful tanned skin, Magna knew he had somehow stumbled upon the younger version of Emerald Sustrai.

Her face silently cried tears as her expression was a mix between fear and panic. Magna could feel how she subconsciously curled into a ball to feel even the slightest bit of safety.

Rage began building inside Magna yet he pushed it down deep as he softly caressed her head and gently whispered in her ear, ”It's okay now. Your safe. Just rest.”

It's might have been his whispering or something else completely but Emerald's expression loosened as she calmly started to relax.

With a smile, Magna continued towards his house. Once he arrived, the twins were about to ask why he ditched them when they saw the girl in his arms and froze.

Magna quietly motion for them to follow him as he walked inside. As he thought, the moment he walked in with an unconscious girl in his arms, his parents demanded an explanation.

After he quickly explained why he brought her with him, Emily had a wide smile on her face as she muttered, ”That's my boy…” while Joshua heavily patted Magna's shoulder with a hearty smile plastered on his face.

However, the movement seemed to wake Emerald up as she slowly opened her eyes. Instantly, she started crying and flailing about. Before anyone could react, Magna softly embraced Emerald while allowing her to attack him.

As time pasted, Emerald seemed to realise that Magna meant her no harm as her a.s.sault slowly came to a stop. Letting her go, Magna softly smiled as he said, ”Don't worry, your safe now.”

Emerald studied Magna's face as his gentle smile slowly calmed her down. Magna placed her on a nearby chair as he cautiously asked, ”If your don't mind, can you please tell me your name?”

”E-Emerald, my name is Emerald Sustrai.” Stuttered Emerald as a small blush appeared on her face.

”OK, Emerald. Could you explain why those… 'things' from before were calling you a theif?”

Magna's words seemed to bring up a bad memory as she started curling up while s.h.i.+vering. Magna instantly reacted as he softly embraced her while gently caressing her back.

After a couple minutes she calmed down enough to start explain. She told him how her parents were killed in a grimm and that she became an orphan. With nothing left to her name, Emerald had no choice but to steal to survive as no one even tried to adopt her. Then she told him that when she was trying to steal something to eat, those men from before caught and started beating her.

Emerald burst into tears as she tightly clung to Magna. Seeing this young girl who could only steal to survive, crying into his shoulder, Magna silently buried his rage as he gently returned her embrace.

Suddenly, more pairs of hands appeared around Magna and Emerald as the twins and his parents hugged both Magna and Emerald.

After 10 minutes, Emerald cried herself to sleep. Magna instantly stood up and ran to the door only to be blocked by his father.

Joshua stared directly into Magna's eyes as he asked, ”Where are you going?”

Magna didn't beat around the bush as he directly stated, ”I'm going to do what I should have done.”

Unknowningly, Magna's eyes had turned completely crimson as a huge amount of killing intent oozed out from his body.

Yet Joshua didn't move from his spot as he calmly said, ”And who will that help?”
