15 Cruel And Bitter Reality (1/2)

It's been about a months since Magna and the girls arrived in the village and reunited with Magna's parents.

The first couple days was definitely rough for Magna as his body was still healing from the after effect of using the sun seal. He mostly took care of his little sister with the help of the twins while the adults went to work. With Emily fully healed, she started to work as a seamstress, helping the family to have more than enough food to eat.

When Magna first met his baby sister, he almost burst into tears as she was the absolute cutest thing he had ever seen. Not to mention that she seemed especially attached to Magna as whenever he tried to leave her alone she would burst into tears.

The twins actually took a while to fit in because of their natural distrust of humans(except Magna). However, under Emily's continuous a.s.sault of love, the girls finally cracked and ended up calling her 'mother', much to her delight.

When Magna finally felt fully healed, he ended up training everyday with the twins until he left to the fields with his father. True to his word, Magna started working on the field to help bring in extra money.

Luckily, Magna had the body flicker technique, causing the harvesting to go extremely smooth and quick. With the extra money the family had, they ended up upgrading almost everything inside the house. And because of the fact that this village was closer to a small city, the houses actually had electricity and plumbing, allowing them to buy things like a fridge and freezer.

As the days past by, the temperature continued to become colder and colder until…

”Would you look at that… it's the first snowflake of winter…”

Magna and the twins watched a small snowflake land against the window and melt into a small trail of water.

Winter had official started and Magna's family was completely ready. They had already received their share of winter rations while also hunting a huge amount of wild animals, resulting in huge cuts of different meats in the new freezer.

The house was relatively modern as it had proper walls and gla.s.s windows. Unlike their old hut, the new house was completely insulated and even came with a wood fireplace.

Suddenly, the door burst open, revealing a happily smiling Joshua as he yelled, ”I MANAGED TO GET SOME BEER!!!”

As he walked through the doorway, a blur sped past Magna and the girls, yanking the bottle away from Joshua before sending him flying outside.

Magna softly shuddered as he could see the annoyed expression on his mother's face and silently prayed for his idiot father.

”Joshua, how many times do I have to tell you. Stop yelling when you come home. To teach you a lesson, I'm confiscating this until you learn.” Emily scolded as she waved the beer infront of Joshua.

Then, Magna and the twins watched on as Magna's father clung to Emily's leg and begged for the beer back. This earned a few sniffled chuckles from the trio until the sound of crying quickly captured everyone's attention.

Before both parents could react, Magna turned into a blur as he shot into the baby room.

Looking down at his little sister, Magna wore a gentle smile as he softly picked her up and slowly began rocking her.

The moment her picked her up, she immediately stopped crying and as he started rocking her, she softly drifted back to sleep.

Magna softly kissed her forehead before gently placing her back in his bed. Instead of leaving, Magna sat right next to the crib and decided to rest.
