Chapter 40: The king (2/2)

”Welcome to your academy everyone!” The king spread his hands to further increase the hype of the academy. It was on top of a hill surrounded by forests and deserts from all directions. No one knew the exact location of the academy but they knew it should still be on their continent.

”Now then without further delay! Everyone that is present should make about 99 people. Adding my daughter it should be 100 people” The young girl who was standing next to him suddenly moved and joined the group of people.

”You will all take a test that will determine the class you'll be joining. There are 5 classes: A to E from highest to lowest. Obviously, the test results determine your position” The king now had his hands behind his back while he was tracing up and down and speaking. ”The test will be divided into three parts. A magic, physical and intellectual exam. Each of these exams will be overseen by people who excel in their respective fields so no one can object to the results!” After the king spoke he moved away from his spot and a man took his place instead.

”I'm the general of Scale kingdom. No need to know my name, for now, I'll be in charge of the physical exam so follow me” The man had a build that was comparable to Leonard. He seemed like he would excel in hand to hand combat so it was fitting to be the overseer of the physical exam.

After walking for a bit they were now in front of a punching machine. Ed looked like he was struck by lightning while also feeling a bit thankful. He wouldn't have to fight anyone but the thought that an exam would be decided by punching power felt too familiar to him.

”Everyone will come forward and hit this machine. You cannot use QI or you will be given a 0 without discussion. Your performance will decide how you will be ranked in school so remember not to hold back” The general explained how the exam would be rolling and stepped back. He pointed at the person in the very front and told him to come forward.

'So we won't be going in an alphabetical order. Lucky me' Ed was still in the middle of the group and was glad there were so many people in front of him. This way, he would know how much to hold back since he wouldn't want to attract any attention. Although people came here to represent their country, Ed didn't want to be any part of it, he was known to be a crown prince that lost his qualification to the throne because of how weak he was so it would be stupid to show off his power when he's supposed to be weak.

The young man, who was called to the front and without any questions asked, punched the machine as hard as he could and a mist was formed on the ball on top of the machine. It was showing the results of the test this way. A number was formed and everyone was curious how much it was.

The man's score was shown after no longer than 1 second but it felt longer for those who were present. His score was 1250. No one knew if it was considered strong or not but they would be finding out after the second person goes up.
