201 Chapter 201: Carriage Drivers (1/2)

The employee's greeted Caesar with bubbling excitement. All of them had felt special to be apart of the center of attention. The large and elegant building amassed recognition from many of the citizens, causing the group employees to become the target of envy.

Not only did they work directly under the respected crowned prince, but they also got to work in such a refurbished building. Gleeful smiles were plastered on their faces as they followed Caesar into the building, one at a time.

The interior didn't lose out to the exterior in the slightest. The floors were covered in a sky-blue carpet and the walls were painted in a pleasant, tannish color. Many different offices of varying sizes and quality showcased themselves on the sides.

At the end of the building, a luxurious staircase was present. It led up to Caesar's and Veronicas office. The workers were deathly curious as to how they looked, but they held themselves back in fear of embarrassing themselves. Instead, they continued to observe the bottom floor.

As normal people who had initially worked for Caesar due to the lack of open jobs in Rahvin kingdom, they were extremely satisfied. Many of the elves had taken the jobs from the humans, as such, it was much harder to make a living in Rahvin kingdom; such was the fate of an overpopulated city.

After a few more minutes of looking around, Caesar finally showed them the upper floor. Seven abnormally prepossessing offices were present. They looked much better than the offices downstairs and the several employees could only salivate in jealousy.

”These five extra offices will be assigned to the top five employees of the month,” Caesar explained, ”Those who work harder will naturally be awarded as such… in contrast, those who produce sub-par results will move to the neighboring building.”

As he spoke to here, the workers immediately dreaded the fact that they were essentially competing with each other at all times. However, the thought of winning one of the spacious offices upstairs caused their eyes to burn with determination.

The corner of Caesar's lips curled as he saw their reaction. He used this method in his past life, though unethical, it worked marvelously. Humans would instinctively tire themselves out due to competition, performing better than the norm.

His arrogant smile once again played on his lips as he gave the workers a few more simple instructions. ”Veronica will inform you of the rest,” he said, ”she already has already prepared a few stacks of documents for the rest of you,” Caesar said whilst exiting the building, he had a few more things he needed to do.

The workers nodded their heads and rapidly sat down at their respective desks, patiently waiting for Veronica's arrival. Caesar savored the feeling of solemnity within the office and couldn't help but feel nostalgic.

His past workers also started like this. They were unbelievably excited until they realized how much effort they were putting forward. Many large corporations disdained his techniques, but none of them could recreate the efficiency any other way.

Slowly, his way of doing things became the norm, ushering the business world into a new era. His brother too tried to replicate Caesar's grand performance, alas, he failed miserably. Sometimes it was better to remain in a shadow, you can live peacefully that way.

After reminiscing about such troublesome memories, Caesar soon broke out of his stupor and bade the employees farewell. He passed by Veronica's weary figure as he walked out of the door. Bags could be seen under her eyes and her skin was abnormally pale.

”We need more executives…” She said right away, throwing away all forms of formalities and pleasantries. The exhaustion she faced as of late was uncanny. All of the important documents that Caesar didn't do, she was forced to complete.
