For three times, she asked herself if she was not in a dream and if Sofony was really the owner of everything here.
Hearing the receptionist, she felt like it was not good to bother her sister anymore so she said, ”I'll be fine. I can just wait here, killing time by watching or playing with my phone. Don't worry about me.”
The pretty lady receptionist didn't feel like that arrangement would be appropriate. The aloof chief secretary of Sofony had already confirmed who this younger lady was so she didn't dare leave her to her own devices and 'not worry about her.'
”Allow me to accompany you then.”
Steffy smiled gratefully at the woman. She felt that her sister's employees were very polite, nice, and professional.
”If so, I hope I won't bore you.”
The woman did stay with her, from time to time, supplying her with gossips and information about the company and the current news within the country.
The other's name was Julia, which she learned from the woman's nameplate attached to her staff uniform. The woman was four years older than her and had been working here for three years.
Minutes passed and they became comfortable with each other's presence.
Earlier, she explained that she was an exchange student that had just gone back from overseas.
When she requested to be given information about the artists coming in and out of the place and the faces that showed on the screens, the other gladly obliged, initiating the introductions with how proud she was to be part of Starlight. The number one reason was that her eyes could feast on beautiful people every day.
”The one on the left screen now is Ms. Maila. She's our top female soloist idol. I heard that she will be trying out acting as one of her next projects. In fact, she is already filming with a known director, Director Dave, as one of the leads.”
”Oh? That beautiful girl who just walked out of the building? It's Miss Anita, our comedy muse. The tall woman next to her is Miss Keith, one of our popular runway and magazine models. They are good friends. Actually, those two are part of Miss Maila's clique.”
Julia stood by her side and introduced other known celebrities to her. Some like Alessa Morgan, Sofia Mendoza, and Lina Haze were mentioned.
Actually, even Steffy's sister was said to be a celebrity, alongside Gio Albarez, Amelia Morgan, Marc Goldwin...
One time, due to a male perfume ad she saw flashing by, she asked, ”Who's that one?”
For some reason, her eyes couldn't help but get drawn to that person.
To be honest, this was not the first time she saw the advertisement since she had already been back for almost three days. But this was the only time that she remembered asking someone about the male model.
The receptionist briefly followed her gaze and then smiled, ”That one is currently our top actor. Or actually, he's currently the country's most popular actor. Very young too. The name is Chris Meyer.”
Steffy could only nod as the other woman began to tell her of this young actor's exploits. It only took her a dozen seconds to realize that Miss Julia was a huge fan of the man.
'I don't know if this girl is showing off her extensive knowledge about this guy or what.'
She wryly smiled when it got to the part where even his educational background was laid bare to her.
”Do you know? He's from this university and I heard that he only took a year to finish his studies there. It's practically a miracle how he did it. But within that year, he not only completed his bachelor's degree, he even made sure to get his diploma for his masters and doctorate!”
”Oh?”
'Is that even possible?'
Steffy looked surprised and the receptionist seemed very satisfied to see that.
Shortly, the other woman seemed to have remembered something and then added, ”Now that I think about it, I think I also heard Miss Silver also achieving the same feat. The difference is that while Mr. Meyer took a computer-related course, hers is Business Administration. Well, our President is the princess of a giant family. What else should we expect?”
A second later, the receptionist once again remembered something. Julia's face changed into a flattering one as she added,
”Of course, I know that you are also will be as amazing as them!”
Steffy shook her head silently, choosing not to comment.
She felt embarrassed. After all, she was not really related to Sofony's status and family.
To be honest, she even doubted if they had a blood relation and if it was still okay to call Sofony her big sister...
