128 5.17 The Birth Of Shinrai to Yujo-ga (2/2)

I went to join Hiko-sama as he sat there munching on a piece of fried gyoza. Since it was still early and many villagers had not turned off their lanterns in their houses, the yatai sellers were heard selling their wares.

The gyoza was filled with mashed potatoes and pieces of vegetables and meat. The small fried dumplings gave such a delectable experience to eat and enjoy as I was totally famished from the earlier blade washing.

The cut that I had made on my left palm had closed up and heal completely. This is a good sign that my chakra channelling in my body was working fine after all. If one was to be messed up, it would affect the rest of the chakra points and needed to be readjusted with chi breathing.

Soon a yatai passed by selling Yakisoba and he was stopped by Hiko-sama as he ordered two portions. Hiko-sama gestured me to bring 2 fresh bowls from the kitchenette and I went in to fetch along with 2 pairs of wooden chopsticks.

I presented the two empty bowls and the seller asked me if I wanted them to be filled according to the bowl size. Since it was a fairly large bowl, I quickly answered positively. He soon whipped up his fine thin noodles looking like ramen and poured some pieces of meat, fish and other seafood into it and then he added a mix vegetables inside it.

Soon after he poured the contents from his wok and brought the two bowls to us and Hiko-sama paid up. Soon after the seller left, another one came by selling Kushikatsu and he ordered 4 sticks of fish cakes that had been marinated with savoury ingredients, soaked in batter and then sprinkled with bread crumbs on it and deep fried before inserting wooden skewers into it.

Our so called supper had been upgraded and it was a joyous feast. The Yakisoba was filling and the two pieces of kushikatsu complete the while round of eating pleasures. How I wished that these yatai vendors exist in the 21st century like the ones selling fish and chips around the town of Liverpool in United Kingdom between Smith Street and Catharina Street where I used to stay during my term at the University of Liverpool.

”Are you still hungry, kid? If not then you best turn in for the night. Nah, bring these bowl to the kitchen and settle them before you go to bed. Furthermore, you would be busy with housekeeping, right? You need to have enough energy to do all the housework. I am sure they have piles of clothes for you to wash and their house condition would definitely be worse than mine when the first time you stepped in.”

”Yes, Sensei. Thank you for the dinner and supper and I would clear the kitchen before I go to bed. I'm already full now, thank you and I'd prepare breakfast before I leave the house. We still have the Taiyaki and I could grill them tomorrow for breakfast with green tea. Would that be alright?”

”Yes, that's fine. You may return the tools you borrowed last time to the rightful owner since you do not have any intent to use the rake andthe kurisagama anymore.”

”Yes, Sensei. But tomorrow could we go to the marketplace because I was looking for some sweet potatoes as well as bananas if someone is selling them.”

”Sure, tomorrow after going to the marketplace, you can proceed to Miroku's place as his house is just nearby here. That was part of your plan, right?”

”That's right, Sensei. It is part of my plan for tomorrow. Please excuse me first, Sensei.”

”Go right ahead and clean the bowls and the kitchen. Have a good night rest afterwards.”

I thanked Hiko-sama and bowed my head in appreciation. Seems that as long as I am in this house, I would be a freeloader and whatever food Hiko-sama orders, he would also orders another portion for me. Although I felt bad deep down, but it is the chance for me to survive and I had no other choices.

I went about my tasks and proceeded to my room where I lay down on the tatami mat and placed my head on the takamura. Soon I drifted into slumber and was snoring slightly as I was tired since the whole day I had spent forging and blade washing afterwards.

---Meanwhile at the terrace front---

”Its going to be a great idea if I bring his katana to the market after he had gone to do the housekeeping. I would ask the Blacksmith if he could do the sheath for me. It would be a great present for him sjnce he managed to make a katana on his own by using parts of weapons.” Hiko-sama was thinking to him self.

In the hands of a Blacksmith, to create a sheath for a katana would not take him even one day. Himura would not realise his katana until he comes back from his work. Even though he would be back for lunch tomorrow, I think he wouldn't not go to his room to check on his katana.

”Hmm, that would be a swell idea. Since I got nothing much to do tomorrow maybe I should also practise my Hiten Mitsurugi-ryu: The Flying Heavenly Sword Style. I need the exercise since I had been lazing around the house since I got back from the treasury.”

Hiko-sama thought silently in his mind and he nodded approvingly at his idea of adding a sheath to the katana and practise his Hiten Mitsurugi-ryu: The Flying Heavenly Sword Style. Since he would be taking Himura as a disciple, it would be a great idea to teach some offensive and defensive moves with the katana.

Since Himura was also a pugilist, Hiko-sama would integrate these two skills together, making it a close quarters combat as well as a way to deflect the opponent in surprise.
