128 5.17 The Birth Of Shinrai to Yujo-ga (1/2)
After I had done with the blade washing, I let the gleam and glinted by the sun's rays and this time, the reflections came back dancing in both Hiko-sama'and my eyes. As earlier, Hiko-sama mentioned that he saw a few blades that seemed to jump at him, but this time it was a flurry of countless blades coming at him!
He cannot control his emotions when the glinted flashes from the blade hits his eyes as he exclaimed that it was just a sword move they could kill a 100 men immediately.
”Sensei, please stop exaggerating regard this katana. How could a single strike would defeat 100 men all at once? If you mean 100 taiyaki then it's a totally different matter all together.”
”Haa... Haa... You never knew what's on my mind and heart right now, kid. When I saw the light glinting off the blade I see a flurry of countless of blades coming at me as if it was part of Hiten Mitsurugi-ryu sword move that I had properly mastered. That sword move alone could kill a few opponents in 1 strike. Would you like to learn it?”
”Well, it's sure is a kind of reflection to strike fear into the hearts of opponents. And furthermore, let me finish inserting the oval guard and handle to it. I won't be able to produce a sheath for it since I do not have any knowledge making it.”
”Don't worry about it, you have a task do do tomorrow, right? Your housekeeping duties would start tomorrow and you would be preoccupied for the next 4 days or so.”
”Yes, Sensei. That is correct. I do have a task tomorrow onwards so I will finish up the final touches first.”
I replied to him and proceeded to place the oval handguard to the bare katana. I then inserted the handle midway and used a small hammer to knock it into place thus making the katana complete except for its sheath, of course.
I admired the finish katana and held it in both hands. I find that the oval handguard and the handle fitted perfectly without any give that it would become unattached during a duel.
The katana was held in both hands and I made a slashing down movement while standing in a stance. The blade swooshed down and the movement cut through the air, making the dust on the ground to be slightly seperated by the gush of the blade's movement.
I then made a side slashing movement and twirled the blade in the air, letting itself somersault before I grabbed hold of the handle and performed a back thrust on my right hand side while turning my body 180 degrees in the opposite direction.
I then made a swirling overhead swing with the katana in one hand, slicing from the left upwards motion and turning my body again 180 degrees to return to my readied state.
I just made these moves in my subconscious mind and it performed perfectly. Each swing of the blade created an after image of many blades as if I was not holding on to a single katana. The motion was quick and the after image was like replaying in a slow motion kind of moves.
Hiko-sama was looking at me move with the katana and subconsciously thought that it was already a part of the Hiten Mitsurugi-ryu: The Flying Heavenly Sword Style. He looked me in surprise and asked me, full of curiosity.
”Kid, how did you know part of the Hiten Mitsurugi-ryu: The Flying Heavenly Sword Style? You haven't seen me performing it but your moves are somewhat similar to it, except for the part when you threw the katana in the air and then performed a back thrust with it.”
”No swordman would do that in a battle and their katana would never leave their hands even for a moment. I have never seen that kind of move and yet it seems very fluid and seems to connect with you somehow.”
”It seems that your Shinrai to Yujo-ga seems to be a part of your body, like an extension of your arms. If you were to master the Hiten Mitsurugi-ryu: The Flying Heavenly Sword Style, you would be the best disciple in the whole of Japan... Ahem”
”Thank you, Sensei. I was just playing around and try my moves with this new katana. Here, hold this katana and tell me what you think of it, now that it is completed with the blade washing and all.”
Hiko-sama held the katana in his hands and find that it was a tad shorter than a normal katana would be, but at 3 feet and 8 inches in length plus the handle, it would be a perfect fit for a child like me.
When he swung around the katana and executed parts of the Hiten Mitsurugi-ryu: The Flying Heavenly Sword Style movement, I could see that it was very fluid and it seems that his attacking moves could really hit and eliminates several opponents due to its speed and agility welding the katana. Since there was no sheath, Hiko-sama could not complete the full Hiten Mitsurugi-ryu: The Flying Heavenly Sword Style.
He handed the katana back at me and remarked that the overall performance of the katana that I had forged was perfect in every way. The weight was properly distributed and there wasn't any flaw he could find with it.
”Alright, time to bring this katana back to the real world, Sensei.” I said to Hiko-sama as I held on the katana and meditated off. Soon, I opened up my eyes and I felt the katana in my hands had been succefully being transported from the Realm of Mind and back to reality. I looked around and found that Hiko-sama had already stirred from his meditative state as well.
”I'm hungry, and I want to drink sake too.” That's the first thing that came out from Hiko-sama as he stood up and went to kitchenette to fetch the gyoza that had been bought earlier. He carried it off with his half finished jar of sake and sat at the terrace of the house
I placed the katana on the wall just above my Kodachi and was thinking of making a katana stand so that in case of an Act of God, these swords would not fall on my head by accident and accidently impale me.
