Chapter 6 Trap, Capturing a soul pet
Covered in blood, Chu Mu dare not be rash. After all, there are many soul pets with a sensitive sense of smell, such as the terrifying and cruel Hunting Wolf.
The Hunting Wolf’s grade is high, even higher than the Mandy monster. If anyone can capture one, even if its quality is only average, and train it to at least stage 7, he will certainly be able to get top ten.
As for the low grade Thorn Demon, even when reaching stage 9, will find it difficult to match a stage 7 high grade soul pet like the Hunting Wolf.
Chu Mu found a secluded place and rested for a day, tending to his wounds.
The medicine proved to be effective, and Chu Mu is still able to proceed.
By the third day, Chu Mu has reached the innermost part of the island. Carefully, he proceeded step by step, as any soul pet he might encounter here is much more terrifying than the Hunting Wolves of the enforcers. If he is able to capture one, he’ll be undefeatable……
However, these soul pets’ cruelty is unmatched, forget about capturing, Chu Mu dare not even go near them.
“Twin Headed Snake, Glannis, Flametail, Ten Legged Centipede, Monkey Demon……sigh, can’t touch any of them, they’re all above stage 7……”
Hiding in the trees and looking at the soul pets that walked past today, Chu Mu laughed bitterly. Most of these are medium and high grade soul pets, but Chu Mu can only watch, while holding the rope to activate his trap.
Traps are Chu Mu’s only way to deal with the soul pets that are a lot stronger than himself.
But the trap he dug is only effective towards soul pets that are stage 3 and below. The previous soul pets are all at stage 7 or higher, and are almost as strong as the Hunting Wolves. Chu Mu’s shabby trap definitely cannot deal with these ferocious beasts.
Patience, what Chu Mu needs is tremendous patience…….
“Strange, why is such a weak little guy loitering here?”
Suddenly, a small and weak soul pet appeared in Chu Mu’s sight. From his judgement, it is only at stage 1.
This little guy has beautiful reddish brown fur, a beautiful fox tail, and a pet.i.te body. This fox cub was apparently attracted by the food Chu Mu left on the trap, and seems to have been injured. Trembling, it carefully picked up the food on the trap.
“Reddish brown fur, it should be a Red Cloud Fox……a silver crescent mark on its forehead…….weird, isn’t that only found on the Silver Moon fox……is this little guy a mixed blood?” muttered Chu Mu.
Chu Mu did not activate the trap. Even though this little guy is at a low stage and can be captured, its grade is also low. Both the Red Cloud Fox and Silver Moon fox are low grade soul pets.
These types of soul pets are not cla.s.sified as battle soul pets. In the cities, they are mostly pets which girls hug to sleep.
Chu Mu waited for the little mixed blood to leave with his food before replacing the food on the rope, and continued to wait……
Despite three days of waiting on the tree, Chu Mu did not find a satisfactory soul pet.
Early morning, as Chu Mu gnawed at his rations, he decided to leave if he cannot find a satisfactory soul pet by noon, and risk moving into deeper parts.
“Sha sha”
Suddenly, the soft sound of leaves reached Chu Mu’s ears.
The tree Chu Mu is on is the Long Leaf Tree. In fact, some soul pets like to nest here, such as the Monkey Demon Chu Mu encountered earlier.
