Chapter 41 - Hanging Out (2/2)

Just for a second in Aomine's eyes, Shun's face turned into that of a devil who was successful in his scheme.

Satsuki, who couldn't find any flaw in the logic presented by Shun, calmed down and thought about it.

Satsuki: ”Really? Would that really help fix my reputation as a cook.”

Shun smiled toward her gently and full of support.

Shun: ”Of course it would, Teiko just won the Nationals, and Dai-chan was a regular on that team which makes him extremely popular in the school. So, people would naturally talk about your food if he eats it. This way, the news would travel fast, and your reputation would repair quickly.

And, if you make him food every day for a week, then some people would ask Dai-chan, why are you cooking him food, and then he would answer to them that he likes your cooking.

See, just like that problem solved.”

Satsuki, who was already trapped in the trap laid by Shun, took the bait and said.

Satsuki: ”Yes, you are right! Shun-kun, I forgive you for making that bet causing false rumors to spread about my cooking. I will cook food for Dai-chan until everybody knows that my cooking is not bad.”

Satsuki smiled brightly and turned towards Aomine.

Satsuki: ”Dai-chan, from the next week, don't bother bringing lunch money from home. I will personally make food for you.”

At this point, Aomine knew he was screwed and had given up any hope. He put on the best smile he could and nodded.

Aomine: ”I-I would be looking forward to y-your c-cooking.”

Aomine wanted nothing more to cry at this point, and on the other hand and Shun wanted to do nothing but to laugh like an evil maniac, but both of them held back their d.e.s.i.r.es in front of Satsuki.

After that, the three of them went out for karaoke, had lunch together, and they did some window shopping.

Satsuki bought some bath salts that she liked to collect.

Shun took them to a batting center where they all had fun trying to hit home runs. Shun came out on top because he just copied the guys who were playing in the other batting cages.

They didn't play basketball because Satsuki was with them, and the batting center was the best thing that they could enjoy equally, both of the boys knew that if they started to play basketball, then they would get too absorbed and end up ignoring Satsuki.

All in all, it was a fun day, time passed quickly, and before they knew it, the sun had already set.

Shun and Satsuki parted ways with Aomine and headed home.

Satsuki was humming and skipping as they walked home.

Satsuki looked at the convenience store that they were crossing and said.

Satsuki: ”It is hot today. Shun-kun, let's go eat some ice pops.”

Shun too thought that it was hot, and thought that it was a good idea.

Shun: 'Well she did cry because of me today, I should treat her to make up for that.'

Shun stopped in front of the convenience store and said.

Shun: ”Sure, why not. It's my treat.”

Satsuki's eyes sparkled when she heard that.

Satsuki: ”Really! Yeah!”

Shun went into the convenience store and bought one double popsicle.

Shun came out and removed the wrapper and threw the wrapper in the trash can.

The popsicle had two sticks, and it could break from the center for people to share.

Shun broke the popsicle in half and handed one half to Satsuki.

Satsuki: ”Thank you~.”

Shun: ”You're welcome~.”

Satsuki and Shun walked in a comfortable silence as they ate their half of the popsicle.

As they reached their houses, Satsuki turned towards Shun and said with a smile.

Satsuki: ”It was fun today. Let's do this again someday.”

Shun smiled back and replied.

Shun: ”It sure was, and yes, let's do this again someday.”

Both of them said their goodbyes to each other and entered their homes.

Satsuki: ”Good Night, Shun-kun. See you later.”

Shun: ”Good Night, Satsuki-chan. See you later.”

That night Shun went to sleep completely satisfied with his day.
