Chapter 4: Clues
Yu Su put her hand on the doork.n.o.b, gritted her teeth then twisted the handle.
She yanked the door open and felt the cool breeze from the outside, she also saw something flashed outside the door.
But when she tried to focus her sight, there was no movement and all sound disappeared.
It was empty outside the door, yet Yu Su felt gooseb.u.mps.
Right at this moment, she felt there was an invisible evil spirit standing exactly in front of her. This feeling was purely created by her mind's imagination, but her body still got colder.
She exhaled a long breath and reached out to press the light switch on the side, near the door. After she lit up the room, she turned to w.a.n.g San and smiled, “There's nothingー” The last word was stuck on the tip of her tongue.
Because she noticed the extra “person” in the corner of the room.
It was a woman in her pajamas, s.h.i.+vering uncontrollably in the innermost corner, her head lowered and her long, messy hair covered her whole face.
Blood was dripping down from the wound on her arm.
Yu Su's heart pounded, she didn't forget to remind w.a.n.g San to turn back. Before she let out a word, w.a.n.g San suddenly ran to her in a few big steps, grabbed her arm and pulled her strongly to his side.
Yu Su was forcefully drawn to him, the moment her forehead hit his chest, there was a loud noise behind her!
She turned her head quickly and was shocked to see a tall black shadow rus.h.i.+ng in from the door.
The black shadow was holding a sharp kitchen knife on its hand. The noise just now came from when it attempted to cut Yu Su, because of w.a.n.g San's quick action, the knife blade cut the door instead.
At this moment, Yu Su's heart almost jumped out from her throat. Although she wasn't completely frightened, she wasn't calm tooー
When the shadow approached both of them and slashed again, she kicked it with all her strength.
If she had maintained enough reason, she might not kick the shadow. She would have hesitated because she wasn't sure whether her foot would pa.s.s through the shadow's body or not.
After the shadow got kicked by her, its action actually delayed for a moment.
w.a.n.g San pulled Yu Su's behind him, then added a beautiful flying kick to the shadow. He immediately closed the door as the shadow got kicked out of the room and fell on the corridor.
After the door was closed, there was no more movement outside.
Yu Su was somewhat shocked, staring at the door while stepping back two steps. She suddenly remembered there was another ghost inside the room.
She scurried to hid behind w.a.n.g San and exclaimed, “Quick, Big Brother, there's another one inside!”
In the corner, the ghost was still trembling while blood continued dropping down from her arm, forming a red lake on the ground.
w.a.n.g San bowed his head to look at Yu Su, “You're so silly. She's the clue.”
His voice just fell when the ghost slowly raised her head, revealing the face which previously blocked by her hair.
Yu Su imagined she would see a horrible view, but she didn't expect it was only a slightly pale face.
“Thank you for saving me. You two are kind people!” The female ghost spoke with a shaking voice.
Yu Su didn't dare to speak to her. She stood quietly behind w.a.n.g San and listened to w.a.n.g San's question, “What's going on?”
The ghost sobbed and said intermittently, “That guy often did domestic violence. I have endured it all this time, but tonight, I found the evidence of his derailment from his mobile phone. I wanted to divorce him! When I spoke to him, he was drinking alcohol then rushed to the kitchen like crazy, he picked up the kitchen knife while shouting he wanted to kill me! Thank you! Thank you for opening the door and for saving me! I'll call the police tomorrow morning, so the police can put that madman to jail!”
Yu Su was stunned, she felt something was wrong. Can a ghost call the police and put another ghost to jail?
That being said, the ghost probably didn't realize she had already died. Everyday, She would repeat the night of her death.
Now that Yu Su and w.a.n.g San opened the door and changed the outcome, the female ghost thought she was saved.
“What about your mother?” While Yu Su was thinking, w.a.n.g San asked.
The female ghost looked shocked for a moment before she answered, “My mother went to a relative's house, she will return tomorrow… Not good, If she knew I was hurt, she would be upset. I couldn't let her know, couldn't… Ah!!!”
Her screamed surprised Yu Su.
The next second, the female ghost's body changed dramatically at a speed visible to the naked eyes.
Several b.l.o.o.d.y wounds appeared on her body, and it kept increasing!
She began to roll on the ground, crying out in pain, shouting for help, her voice was pitiful and shrill, making the listener felt as if a steel needle was piercing their heart. Yu Su was uncomfortable listening to her plea.
She unconsciously wanted to go forward, but w.a.n.g San pulled her back.
He watched the b.l.o.o.d.y female ghost calmly and said faintly, “The past cannot be changed.”
Yu Su licked her lips, she nodded and stayed beside w.a.n.g San. They watched the female ghost cry weakening until she was completely silent.
The ground was already covered in blood, the contrast between the color of blood and the light-colored floor was very glaring. It completely described the horror of the woman's lying on it.
Faced with this scene, Yu Su instantly remembered Xue Mei. All the wounds on Xue Mei's seemed exactly like the female ghost.
She thought about it and turned to ask w.a.n.g San, “Is it wrong to open the door?”
w.a.n.g San shook his head and slowly answered, “Xue Mei didn't open the door, hence she was faced with the female ghost's grief. The female ghost blamed Xue Mei for not saving her.”
