Chapter 3 : Open the Door
Yu Su opened the refrigerator and found some pork on the upper layer, various vegetables and fruits on the bottom, also a dozen eggs.
It looked very normal, nothing unusual at all.
She closed the refrigerator door and was about to leave the kitchen, but as soon as she turned around, she b.u.mped into someone.
It was the Proprietress.
Yu Su didn't know how long the Proprietress had been standing behind herself.
The Proprietress' bright flowery ap.r.o.n was in contrast with her expressionless face. She stared straight at Yu Su, her gaze felt sinister, like a viper staring at its prey.
Yu Su was shocked by her but soon calmed down. She laughed and explained, “Proprietress, I was a little hungry, so I wanted to find something to eat. I came to find the food myself because I was unable to find you. You are not angry, right?”
The Proprietress blinked and instantly restored her previous gentle look.
She laughed like nothing had happened just now, and spoke enthusiastically, “Of course not. What do you want to eat? I'll prepare it for you.”
Yu Su answered casually, “No need to bother, just give me two apples.”
The Proprietress bypa.s.sed Yu Su and opened the refrigerator, then took out two red apples. She responded while smiling, “I'll send them to you after I washed them!”
Yu Su quickly thanked her and left the kitchen.
As soon as she left, she noticed three people standing in the hall, looking her way.
Li Yi asked her without sound, her mouth motioned, 'Are you alright?'
Yu Su didn't know whether to nod or shake her head, so she shrugged and pointed upstairs.
When she pa.s.sed Xue Mei's room, Yu Su glanced inside and saw that the corpse was still lying there.
Li Yi took the lead and entered her and Zhuang Han's room. As soon as she entered, she said helplessly, “When the Proprietress came out from my room, I said a few words loudly, but none of you seemed to hear it.”
Seeing the Proprietress heading back, she ran downstairs before the other party, but only in time to remind w.a.n.g San in the left room.
Unexpectedly, the Proprietress didn't go downstairs immediately but found Zhuang Han on the second floor.
Zhuang Han gasped in horror and told them, “I was walking into a room on the second floor that was noticeably different than the other rooms. I was just starting to look for clues, but when I turned around, I saw her behind me and was almost scared to death!”
After he was seen by the Proprietress, naturally he didn't dare to search for clues again. He followed her downstairs and saw Li Yi and w.a.n.g San preparing to enter the kitchen.
When they saw the Proprietress coming down, they could only stop their actions and watched her walked into the kitchen.
Zhuang Han and Li Yi deliberately talked loudly outside, but it's apparent that Yu Su didn't hear a single word.
Fortunately, nothing happened. Yu Su grabbed the key point and questioned Zhuang Han, “How is that room different? Did you find anything?”
“It's not a guest room.” Zhuang Han answered. “It's the room of the Proprietress' daughter and son-in-law. It's a shame that before I could take a closer look, the Proprietress appeared.”
Li Yi spoke next, “I asked the Proprietress a lot of questions. When I asked about her daughter and son-in-law, her face changed a little, but she didn't tell me anything in the end.”
Yu Su looked at w.a.n.g San, w.a.n.g San shrugged his shoulders, he seemed to not find anything.
Yu Su was the last one to report, “I found that the decoration on the kitchen was relatively new, a bit out of place compared to other rooms. Other than that, I found nothing else.”
When she left the kitchen, she wanted to ask the Proprietress but reconsidered it.
Originally, she thought that the existence of the Proprietress was to provide clues to the players, but the other party's sinister eyes told her that this wasn't the case.
At this time, w.a.n.g San asked Li Yi, “When you found the body this morning, did you open the door yourself?”
Li Yi shook her head, “No, the door was already open when I arrived.”
w.a.n.g San nodded, he stood up and said as he walked out, “That's all then. Since we can't find any clues during the day, we can only wait for the evening.”
Yu Su immediately followed him and whispered, “Did senior found something?” (Yu Su actually called him old man/grandpa/something used to show respect to old people, basically sucking up to w.a.n.g San)
w.a.n.g San stumbled a little, he smiled at Yu Su, “I found that you wanted to die.”
“…Well, Big Brother, I was wrong.” She agreed it was a little disgusting.
Back in their room, Yu Su opened the curtains and looked outside. There was still the silent downpour, and it was strange that she was unable to see the distant view at all.
It was as if nothing else existed except this small hotel.
The Proprietress soon delivered the fruit and Yu Su thanked her at the door. After the previous encounter, she felt chilled at the Proprietress' warm and gentle smile.
A moment later, there was some movement at Xue Mei's room next door.
Yu Su turned her head and asked w.a.n.g San in a low voice, “Is it safe to look at the room next door?”
w.a.n.g San was reading a book from his suitcase to kill time, he returned a “hmm” without raising his head.
Yu Su opened the door lightly, slowed down her breathing while gradually approaching the next room, she looked inside probingly.
The door wasn't closed and Yu Su could see the Proprietress' back.
Xue Mei's body disappeared. She didn't know where the Proprietress put it. Now there was only a translucent plastic bag on the ground, filled with turbid red water.
