It seemed like the sandmen also possessed some sentience with them. It appeared to be aware of the disadvantageous position that it was if the group of warlocks will going to successfully land their attacks to them.
One of the sandmen raised his fist and a furious sand storm swept across the area. Clouds of sand rose into the air. It seems that they can control the sand, which is not a surprise to the group.
Considering that the sandman is a native race in this desert land, it is normal for them to have some advantage when it comes to dealing with intruders in their own home turf.
Without a doubt, the sandman was a powerful adversary. It was no wonder the group of warlocks that fought with the sandman before them had their hands tied dealing with it.
To the point that they were almost overpowered despite the numerical advantage.

The human sand hurled punch after punch, but it was unable to breach the light barrier cast around him.

On the other hand, the second sandman seemed to have realized that the group of warlocks that they were dealing with was a formidable foe as well, and it charged forward in a hurry to aid its companion.
When Long Yue saw that the second sandman intends to attack his brother, he also made his move.

He chuckled softly as he whipped a blue magic pearl out of his storage ring. As soon as Long Yue crashed the blue magic pearl, it turned into magical dust and it swiftly flew towards the direction of the second sandman.

As soon as the magical dust of Long Yue's Immobility Pearl landed at the second sandman, it was immediately forced to the ground, unable to move at all.
It was like an invisible force was holding the second sandman into place. Preventing it to lift even a finger.
It was the same artifact the Long Yue used before when he interrupted the heartfelt reunion of Janus and Luna when they first met.
When Janus saw the same old trick that was used to him during the banquet, he was instantly reminded of how humiliated he felt back then when he was left hanging in thin air.

[Ohh, it seemed that lad still has some magic pearls reserved with him. Maybe I can use some of it some other day to him to get back at what he did to me. Hmph!]
Unaware that he had been plotted to by the cunny cute black cat, Long Yue gazed coldly at the two helpless sandmen before them.
Harrumphing coldly he said,
”Lead us to where the oasis is, and we can spare you both from death!”
”Roar!”
It was hard to tell whether the two sandmen had truly understood his words or not. But they released ferocious howls and continued clawing at their way out from their restrictions.
”Let me handle it...”
Seeing as how the two sandmen were disregarding their words and seemed not to have any plan in surrendering, Mu Lingxi stepped out as she narrowed her eyes coldly.
”It seems like you aren't going to submit to until you were shown you a bit of force eh?? Very well, I shall let you try my hand then!”
Mu Lingxi flicked her wand slightly and sent a surge of water towards the two sandmen
Over the past few days, Mu Lingxi was also practicing some tricks. Like controlling a liquid substance and shaping it in the form of a sword for example.
As soon as she read this spell on their book Black Magic book, she immediately asked her cat Janus to accompany her at the chocolate fountain to try the spell.
She personally learned the spell without anyone teaching her. At first, she was even doubting herself if she could actually succeed in mastering such kind of spell on her own.
But her diligence in practicing the spell paid off when one day, she managed to conjure a liquid sword out from the chocolate fountain!
After a couple of trial and error, she was already capable of utilizing the spell in combat and gain full control over it.
Since she knew that the weakness of the sandmen lies on the water attribute spells, she was intending to use a small amount of water to teach the two sandmen a lesson.
