”What was that sandman earlier? Since you have been here for several hours already, did you notice anything out of ordinary?”

Long Fuzi continued asking after accepting the handshake offered by the other party.

”The sandman is a life form that exists in this desert. We encountered it after traveling for roughly four hours, and it attacked us upon noticing our presence. If not for your group's help, we might have already succumbed by now!”

Another warlock from the Plufwarts School of Spell said as he stared at the group who saved them. A deep sense of gratitude was reflecting on his eyes when he uttered those words.

They knew that if not for the other group coming to their rescue, they would have been a goner now. As such, they revealed everything they know and answer the other party's questions without hiding anything.

”As for anything out of ordinary… I'm afraid I didn't see anything of that sort. However, what we know is that this desert has an oasis. In fact, there is where we are headed. But so far we didn't see anything of that sort on our journey”

”Oasis???”

Those words made Mu Lingxi and the other's eyes lit up.

Indeed! Since there was a desert, there was bound to be an oasis somewhere!

It was highly likely that the swamp would be located somewhere near the oasis since both have water on them.

Long Fuzi nodded her head in delight upon finding a clue as to what they should be looking for. But before he could continue his interrogation, one of the warlocks from the other group intercepted him.

”Wait a moment, I just happened to recall something really weird about this place. No matter how much water we drink, it doesn't seem to quench our thirst. Instead, the more we drink the feebler we become.”

After some time, the third warlock from the other group speaks what was in his mind.

”Now that you said that, I also realized that it was only when we were resting to alleviate our exhaustion and quench our thirst when that fellow suddenly appeared and attacked us!”

The first warlock who offered a handshake with Long Fuzi butted in as recognition dawned on his tired and pale face.

”Drinking water does not work and instead it attracts the sandman???”

Fan Lei asked to reconfirm the details. So far, their group has not yet drunk a single drop of water since they were saving it since they were not sure yet how long they will have to stay in that desert.

Aside from that, they also have been in the desert for just around two hours at most. A such they don't find the need to quench their thirst that badly.

But it seemed that it was actually a blessing in disguise.

Because from how the other group says it if ever they tried to quench their thirst and drank water beforehand, then there is a high chance that they would have been attacked by the sandman by now.

”Why don't we try luring another sandman here and see if could get any other clue?

Mu Lingxi suggested after a while. She did not expect the sandman would be so weak as to die with just a single spell of water attribute from her.

Since they already knew of its weakness, then they could just use it to their advantage. Luring another sandman should not pose any problem now.

Considering how large the desert was, it would be foolish to think that they would be able to find the oasis just by wandering around aimlessly.

The wiser decision would be to rely on the native race living in this desert! However, the problem was that they would have to first attract a sandman.

The fact that their group had wandered around for more than two hours but encountered no sandman at all likely meant that there was some kind of trigger to draw it in.
