Mu Lingxi, on the other hand, felt warm from how her grandfather treated her. She never had a real family. This is her first time talking warmly to an elder family and this feel so strange to her. At the same time, she yearns for this kind of feeling. She will never think that after experiencing death she would have a chance to experience this kind of feeling.

”I'm so sorry for making grandfather worried about me, I never thought that it would turn out like this. I was just planning to look for a spiritual beast that I can tame. I want to surprised grandfather.” she said shyly.

This is what she comes up with her conversation with her cat Janus. It was obvious that she cannot tell anyone about the agreement that she had with Mu Yanxiao and risked the chance to get discovered that she supposed to fall from her death. That is something she cannot afford right now because there is no way she can explain how she survived the fall from that cliff without raising any suspicions.

As if on cue, the little black cat stand up and started to transform into a huge black panther. Mu Ruochen stared at the transforming cat without batting an eyelid.

”Not bad....not bad... it seems that my granddaughter is really growing up already and doing things without asking help from others.” Mu Ruochen said while nodding. His tone seems to carry a hint of sadness.

”Grandfather,... I still have a lot of things that I needed your help in the future...” she said while clinging to his grandfather's arm like a spoiled child that she used to be.

”MEOW” [ Whoa,.. little lass.... it seems that you are loving your new character. You're getting into it... It does not look like you are acting anymore. hehe” ] said the cat with amusement visible in his round eyes.

”Shut up” Mu Lingxi hissed through their mental telepathy where they used to talk.

”Of course, of course,... this old bones still had its function. Never hesitate to ask, I will always be here to provide you whatever you need.” Mu Ruochen replied dotingly while rubbing his granddaughter's head.

”It's good that you finally had your own spiritual beast. Now we just have to wait for your cousin to get well and you guys will be ready to set off to Magus Academia.”

” Is that where we will have to train ourselves?”

”Yes, I want you and your cousin to learn magic.”
