When Jiaojiao walked over to open the door, it was the television station crew members bringing them supper. “Miss Yan, our director ordered this for you.”

“Thank you so much.” Jiaojiao took over the bags of food and looked over at Yan Su with a bemused expression. “What’s the matter with you? Are you that afraid of Mr. Mo showing up?”

Yan Su forced a tired smile and said, “Well, just lock the door before the compet.i.tion starts. I’m not going to see anyone, no matter who is asking for me.”

At 7:30 p.m., Yan Su put on her mic as she got ready for her performance. She was the first one up that day and because of her little situation with Mo Liuxi over the past week, she hadn’t been able to perform to her best potential. When she finished her performance, she knew that she didn’t do as well as before.

When she returned to her lounge, feelings of stress enveloped her.

Jiaojiao comforted her saying, “Don’t think too much about it. You were great out there.”

Yan Su shook her head. “I already knew when I was rehearsing. Everyone put in their 101% this time but I wasn’t able to focus on my music. I’m not going to score a good rank this time around.”

“There’s nothing shameful about losing this round today. After all, you’ve come such a long way.” Jiaojiao smiled. “It won’t be a bad thing to get eliminated today. After all, Chinese New Year is coming. You can finally take a break after this and see your parents.”

All of a sudden, Yan Su thought about Yan Yan. It had been a while since she last saw her and she would always end up in tears whenever she video called her little darling.

“Yeah.”

It was about an hour until the voting segment. Yan Su grabbed a quick bite and sat on the couch listening to the music. Jiaojiao had to go somewhere else to settle some things with the director.
