He hesitated to raise his arms to hold her tight. While he was struggling, Nian Xi’s phone suddenly rang.

She let go of him and answered the call.

Jiang Yuning silently complained about the call. Why did that person have to call her at that very moment? So annoying. He had almost held her in his arms.

“It’s my mom. She told me to hurry.” After ending the call, Nian Xi said to him, “Let’s go.”

Jiang Yuning nodded quickly. After walking a while, he looked at the files in Nian Xi’s hands and said, “Let me carry your things.”

In the car, Nian Xi said to him, “Later, you’ll meet my parents and other elders in my family. Be sure to greet them. Don’t act like last time when you were at my brother’s place. My mom is fine, but my father and grandparents take courtesy seriously.”

“Alright.” Jiang Yuning nodded and said, “I’ve already met your father.”

“I think your father is a nice person.” Jiang Yuning continued with, “We had a great time together.”

Nian Xi’s mouth corners twitched. Did he have some misunderstandings about the terms “great time?” Her father was furious back then.

“Are you sure?”

“Yeah.” Jiang Yuning nodded and blinked his eyes.

“Alright.” Nian Xi wasn’t sure how to respond to that, so she asked him another question, “What about my brother?”

“Also nice. Jiang Yuning nodded. “He treated me to shumai. The shumai was delicious. He is a good person.”

“Who do you consider not good?”

“The bad guys.” Jiang Yuning thought for a moment before answering her question.
