Chapter 60 - This Is Life (2/2)
Simon dashed forth with his dagger and thrusted it towards Diovol's neck, who blocked the dagger with the broad side of his blade. With the momentum he had garnered, Simon continued his action by placing his centre of gravity to his right so he could slide off to the side. In doing this, Simon nimbly sliced into the side of Diovol's abdomen as the former slid past him.
”AAARGH!” Diovol felt a stinging pain that coursed through his body as the wound began to flame with unbelievable measures of pain, causing him to lose his breath for a moment.
”DAMN YOU!” Diovol rushed towards Simon with his sword and aimed for Simon's left shoulder, smiling with hungry eyes.
'He's going to target my left-'
Without a moment to spare, Diovol rotated his body and went into for a slashing motion rather than a thrust, Leaving Simon with no time to react.
SLASH
The blade shallowly slashed into Simon' upper body, leaving a a long wound on him. Luckily, his current clothes were made with magic, meaning that they can self repair. Knowing this, Simon didn't have to worry about buying a new set after this is over.
”Take a look at the tip of your blade...it looks rather not pointy, don't you think?” Simon pointed at Diovol's sword.
With a quick glance, Diovol noticed that the tip of his sword, that had shallowly cut into Simon, had been corroded very heavily, leaving a melted texture on what was left of the thrusting end of his blade. With eyes of pure ferocity, Diovol looked back at his opponent.
”This sword belonged to my father's father. How will you pay for this great loss?” Diovol asked with an angered expression.
”I will make you suffer! You dare to steal the Mistress' purity and leave such a blemish on my swor-”
Four daggers flew in from four different directions, intersecting at Diovol's neck. Without another word, Diovol's head dropped from his body and he died.
'Funny thing, opponents won't always stop to listen for your monologues. This is not a cutscene, this is life.'
