Minhyun wasn't lying when he said that all her favorite foods would be at the table. Literally, the moment she entered the house, a delicious smell entered her nose and her mouth began to water.
Once she saw the delicacies on the table, her eyes lit up with joy. Everything was there. Sus.h.i.+. Bulgogi. Noodles. Spicy rice cakes. It was as if her own personal buffett was placed in front of her. It was a dream come true.
Minhyun was standing near the table. Both his hands were in his pockets and his left eyebrow was raised. ”You seem more happy to see the food than me.”
A giggle escaped her lips. She walked towards him and pulled his hand out before swinging his arm cutely. ”I'm happy to see you too.”
”Smooth but you're not denying what I said.”
She pursed her lips. ”Because what you said is true.”
He quickly wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her closer. A yelp escaped her lips by his sudden movements. He leaned in towards her ear. ”So annoying.”
Yoona laughed before poking his nose with her finger. ”I know. That's my job as your girlfriend.”
Then she pushed his arms away. ”Anyways, I'm hungry. I need to eat!”
The two sat down at the table.
Yoona glanced around, deciding what to eat first, before digging into the sus.h.i.+ first. She dipped the piece into the soy sauce and placed it into her mouth. A happy smile filled her lips as the taste exploded in her mouth.
”So good…”
Minhyun felt warm inside seeing his girlfriend happy with his gift. He took a sip of his water. ”You saw the banner I made right?”
She nodded happily. ”It was so nice… But also so extra.”
He leaned his head against his hand. ”But I know that you liked it regardless.”
”I did,” she said with a giggle. He knew her too well. Although before, she would be overwhelmed by the large display of affections, now she understood why people liked them so much. It made her feel special. ”Thank you. All the girls were jealous.”
”How jealous?” He asked with a sly smile.
She leaned forward. ”Very jealous. And unfortunately, they won't be able to find anyone like you so I win.”
He let out a laugh. ”You've changed so much after meeting me, it's crazy.”
”In what way?”
He took a bite out of a rice cake. ”Just the way you tease and treat people. It's not a bad thing. I love the new Yoona.”
”Of course you do,” she said with a grin. ”Or else we wouldn't be dating.”
Then there was a pause. ”By the way, when I start working at MH, you better not tell anyone that we are dating. I'm planning on having a simple work term there. I don't need anyone knowing that I have connections to the CEO.”
Today was Friday. That meant after the weekend, she would start her first day on Monday. What she wanted from this opportunity was to experience what it would be like working at a large company. She wanted to be treated like everyone else.
If the workers would've found out about her relations with Minhyun, surely they would see her in a different light. She'd heard stories about parachutes, people who got in through connections, who are given special treatment.
That was a nightmare for her. She wanted to be treated fairly.
