133 Shoot And Aim (1/2)
The situation was quickly turning sour.
Minhyun tried to control the turmoil in his head. He needed to find a solution. Fast.
It was clear that Jaemin was not going to leave this room without shooting a single bullet. His aim was not money but death. Ultimately, he wanted revenge in some way and in this particular situation, he wanted to ruin Minhyun through the death of Yoona.
And Minhyun had a feeling that Jaemin would kill himself afterwards.
No matter how hard he would try, there was no way he could change Jaemin's mind about killing Yoona. After all, in Jaemin's shoes, this was the best revenge he could obtain.
But taking in the factor that Jaemin was restless and hisblood-thirst he had towards him, Minhyun could use this to his advantage. Yes. A plan formed in his head.
”The girl that you love?” Minhyun said. ”Wasn't your whole relations.h.i.+p a lie?”
Jaemin's smile turned crooked. ”You can't fake a love like ours.”
Minhyun had a general idea to why Jaemin committed the actions he did despite his s.a.d.i.s.tic love for Yoona. However, he wanted to lead this conversation to a single point. ”But you threw her away during your first anniversary. Why?”
”Do I need to tell you?” Jaemin asked. He pressed the cold metal back against Yoona's temple. She whimpered and bit her lip. ”Why waste time telling you.”
”Because. You're planning on making this a tragic death aren't you? A lover's suicide? If you want to make this legacy, I want to know what your last words are. The reason to why your going this far when you don't even love her.”
Jaemin smirked. ”You really curious?”
Minhyun's eyes narrowed. Jaemin was playing with him. If he said yes, then Jaemin wouldn't tell him to agitate him. If he were to say no, then the conversation would've been useless.
”No. I just need confirmation. You wanted to control her right? From dating her, you felt like she could disappear from your grasps at any moment. Yoona's a beautiful girl. There is no doubt that someone else will fall in love with her and potentially take her from your hands. That's why, by making her life miserable, you wanted to become the single pillar to lean on. To make her realize that you are the only person that could bring her safety and make her so desperate so that she wouldn't be able to live without you.”
Jaemin laughed. He was pleasantly surprised. ”To think that you got it so easily. Perhaps, we are not too different.”
Minhyun fought his anger. How dare this b.a.s.t.a.r.d say such words? They were completed different.
”But there's a single thing i'm confused about,” Minhyun began. ”Why would you go through these lengths when you're known for being heartless when it comes to girls. What made you obsessed with her to the point of thinking of this plan?”
There was a pause. ”You love her because she reminds you of Jihee right?”
This twisted love. It all made sense. Jaemin felt strong emotions towards Jihee. Whether it be hate or love, he wasn't sure. And if it was love, was it romantic or familial love? He couldn't make out an answer. However, what he could figure out was that Jaemin did admire Jihee. He viewed her as perfect as everyone else. Yet, she was too perfect for him to handle, seeing that her existence was tarnis.h.i.+ng his chance as head. She was too independent.
In his world, he had everything under control. Except for her. That was what irked him.
Upon meeting someone who reminded him of his dead sister, how would he react? A girl who looks different yet holds the same beautiful heart and traits? A Jihee that doesn't interfere with his position?
In response to this, he glamorized Yoona.
And the reason to why encouraged Jaeun to make Yoona's life miserable all made sense. He wanted to erase that independent side of Yoona, making her into someone he could control. If he were to control Yoona, it would be similar to him controlling his own sister. This was a form of power he desired.
Was this true love? Was it familial love? Or was it a twisted obsession? Minhyun had no idea what to paint it as.
Perhaps, this was another form of oedipus complex, a psychoa.n.a.lytic theory where Sigmund Freud theorized that children have an unconscious s.e.xual desire for their opposite-s.e.x parent. Except in this case, Jihee was the sister and this moved onto Yoona. He didn't believe in Freud's words, but this was the only textbook answer he could make out of this situation.
But there was no reason for Minhyun to dive deeper into this sicko's heart. He didn't want to find out.
All he needed was to find Jaemin's weak points to s.h.i.+ft the focus on him.
