70 Chapter 70: Visiting The Dwarfs City (1/2)

While Ned was following the dwarfs through the tunnel they came out of, in the humans kingdom two shadows conversed.

One of them had been stealthily advancing when it was spotted by the other and then they both chose a suitable place to talk freely.

They chose an abandoned house and entered it when the bigger of the shadows growled.

”What the h.e.l.l are you doing here, you could have destroyed our plan.” It said.

”I'm under orders of the clan head” the smaller shadow said and fell silent as he pa.s.sed a parchment for the other shadow.

When the bigger shadow read it, it laughed in a malicious way with it's deep voice and gave a nod of approval.

Soon they parted ways after the bigger of the shadows gave some information, about the targets of the smaller shadow, who revealed his form to be that of a demon after the biggest shadow went away.

The revenge against the couple humans who killed their prodigy and general, would be served, he just had to devise a plan of how to gather them all.

Once again changing into shadows he started to stealthily leave and stalk his targets.

......

Following the dwarfs along the tunnel for almost half an hour Led Ned to a huge clearing where there were many houses. There wasn't there the majestic city he was thinking of but he was not really disappointed much.

When he focused on the houses they were a bit short, presumably due to the dwarfs height.

”Come Ned let's go for you to meet our people.” The chief said.

Giving a nod Ned walked with him between the houses, where many dwarf men and women were working.

Some were building stuff in the houses some were taking care of their weapons, while the women who had a frame smaller than the men were doing the was.h.i.+ng of cloths and similar stuff. Of course he noticed some dwarf women taking care of their weapons too. One was taking care of her axe. And he noticed the looks she was getting from the men.

Each one they moved past, introduced themselves to Ned with a smile and told him that he is welcome to come to their house and share a meal and a drink.

He was surprised to say the least. He expected them to be hostile to him, at least if what he thought that some human had really betrayed their trust in the past was true.

He also noticed that even if they looked st.u.r.dy and strong, that some of them were quite sick, and thin, especially their children.
