Prologue

In this world, the Athena Empire and the Diurnal Empire are the two largest nations.

The people born in these two nations more or less possessed magic and were able to use spells.

For a person with weak magical powers, all they could do was simply ignite a flame. Without being able to use large and powerful spells, they live their lives as a commoner.

On the other hand, for those who possessed a strong amount of magical power, they made sorcery their profession, and were called magicians.

The magicians of the Athena Empire manipulated 「Light Magic」, for the Diurnal Empire's magicians, they used 「Dark Magic」instead.

As for how these magi's differ, it was in their energy source. One used the power of the 「Sun」, while the other draws their energy from the 「Shadows.」

And so, for generations the king of the Diurnal Empire that used 「Dark Magic」, was called the 「Demon King.」

The people of the Athena Empire loved the light, and derived their sense of security from its luminescence.

Meanwhile, even though the power of the darkness was strong, for the Diurnal mages that used their power to hide in the shadows, the people of the Athena Empire found them creepy.
