82 Chapter 80: Anticlimactic Ending (1/2)
.....
Cassandra woke up from the large quake and loud explosion that Ivery caused. She got out of bed in a hurry and rushed to the doors to see what had happened.
She opened the door and she couldn't believe the ghastly sight in front of her.
”What happened?!” Cassandra saw that Ivery and Luther were standing next to Julian who laid unconscious on the floor
Cassandra rushed over to Julian's aid and she quickly checked his physical condition.
”Eos, a fallen god, came for him.” Ivery said
”The same fallen god that wants to kill you?” Cassandra worriedly asked Ivery
”Yes.” Ivery nodded
”Why isn't he waking up?!” Cassandra asked as she touched Julians face
”Oh right.” Ivery snapped her fingers
Julian's eyes opened and he looked up at Cassandra. Cassandra smiled with relief after seeing that he was fine.
He slowly sat up and looked around and saw the ruins of the hallway.
”What did you do?” Julian asked Ivery
”We chased her away but she'll be back.” Luther answered for Ivery
”Who exactly will she be back for?” Cassandra asked
”I don't know...” Luther couldn't answer her question
Ivery sighed and knew what she had to do now...
Ivery pulled Luther to the side.
”Luther, it's time we end that venture to Ridgefall and come back to settle things...” Ivery told Luther
The importance of Julian and Cassandra's survival outweighed the temporary occupation of being adventurers and going to Ridgefall.
”If Eos and Xia came after my father in order to get to me, then they most likely were trying to kill your father as well, so we'll have to come back to ensure that they're no longer Eos's targets.” Ivery said
”You're right, the safety of the Emperor's of both of our countries are the top priority.” Luther fully agreed with Ivery's decision, that journey to Ridgefall was only because Ivery wanted to help Danya become stronger and staying in that old town wasn't benefiting them anymore
”But before we officially come back, I have to make sure Danya and Yannel get to Ridgefall.” Ivery was still determined to get them both to Ridgefall, if she didn't then it would've been a waste of time and effort bringing them along in the first place and she couldn't just leave them both in the fairy realm
”How? When we still didn't get anywhere remotely close to Ridgefall and being taken to the fairy realm most definitely made the journey to Ridgefall even more difficult.” Luther wondered how she was planning on getting those two to Ridgefall in such a short amount of time
”The fairies can open portals to the mortal realm anywhere right?” Ivery asked
”I'm sure they can why?” Luther asked
Luther smirked and thought that it was a very high chance Ivery's assumption was right.
”Let's not waste any time then.” Luther pulled Ivery close to him by her waist
”Wait.” Ivery blushed
”Hm?” Luther raised an eyebrow
She waved her hand and the debris from the explosion gathered together and began sealing up the giant hole in the hallway. The cracks that spread across the floor and walls sealed up and the glass from the shattered windows came back together and the windows looked as if they were just freshly polished. The hallway was now in perfect condition, it was cleaner than it was before the explosion.
”I couldn't leave it like that.” Ivery told Luther as she admired her handy work
”We'll be back.” Ivery turned her head to tell Julian and Cassandra
Luther and Ivery soon disappeared into a cloud of black mist.
”....” Julian and Cassandra didn't know what to say and they both just sighed
...
Ivery and Luther appeared back at the pond they were at when they were pulled into the fairy realm.
Ivery reached down and just as she expected a glowing hand grabbed her arm and pulled her into the pond. Luther casually walked into the pond and the hands grabbed him and pulled him down into the water.
....
When Ivery and Luther opened their eyes they were successfully back in the fairy realm. They both entered the golden forest again and soon found a group of fairies nearby.
”Um, excuse me.” Ivery waved to the fairies
They all attentively looked at her with what seemed like sparkles in their eyes.
”Is it possible for you to open a portal to this area?” Ivery showed the fairies the map and pointed to where Ridgefall was located
”Yes! Opening portals are our specialty!” The hand-sized fairies nodded and took the map from her and flew deeper into the forest
”Perfect.” Ivery smiled
”Nice thinking.” Luther rubbed Ivery's head
Ivery blushed and took Luther's hand off of her head. She held his large hand and pulled him as she followed right behind the fairies.
The fairies stopped in front of a medium-sized silver tree with golden leaves. They placed the map on the ground and circled around it. Their fairy dust fell down from their sparkling wings and onto the map.
The map glowed and then suddenly turned into a golden swirling portal.
”This should take you to the map's target destination.” One of the male fairies told Ivery
”Good, thank you.” Ivery smiled
”Do not thank us chosen one, it is an honor to be able to do this for you!” The male fairy said with a wide smile
”No, I must thank you, it's only proper that way.” Ivery told the little fairy, she wouldn't feel right not thanking them after doing a favor for her
”Then, you're welcome!” The fairies smiled at her and waved her goodbye before they all gracefully flew off
....
”Now...to find where they are...” Ivery closed her eyes
She lifted her hands up and her palms glowed with a golden light. She then sensed their magic prowess cores and snapped both of her fingers.
