Chapter 29 (1/2)
Eternal Life (永生) Ch. 29
The Critical Moment
One Devil and one Immortal path disciple fought, their magic treasures constantly conflicting. It was very intense, but extremely exciting to watch. However, once the winner was decided, one side would immediately face death. The danger had reached the critical point, the line between life and death had become thin.
Regardless of whether it was the Seven Devil Clans’ ‘Hong’chen Devil Sect’ or the Ten Immortal School’s ‘Yu’hua School’, they were both one of the great schools between the heavens and earth. Thus, the number of ling’qi possessed by the disciples of both schools was not a small number. These two schools were not like those smaller schools which heavily relied on one ling’qi to uphold their status.
Senior sister disciple Mo had resorted to using her secret weapon, ‘Sky Rooster Yang Rope’, and was currently preparing to kill the Pink Prince to gain an unworldly amount of credit.
However, she never thought that the Pink Prince would actually also have a secret weapon!
“Six Wishes Yin Mine!”
[TL: It seems like I made a mistake last chapter and confused Yang for Yin. Also, Mine and thunder have the same character and I didn’t read ahead, so I chose the wrong one. Sorry.]
‘Six Wishes Yin Mine’ wasn’t a fa’qi, ling’qi, nor bao’qi, but a kind of insidious, highly toxic, one time use weapon. It was something that was forged by the famous elders of the ‘Hong’chen Devil Sect’, and could display extreme Divine power by refining them into a yin mine.
Each yin mine required the refinement of five thousand souls filled with resentment in the darkest abyss underground so that the souls could absorb the poison. They would be nourished there for ten years, and then blended into harmonious yin yang sky mine before being condensed into a pellet.
A pellet of yin mine burst forth, immediately exploding, blasting out tens of thousands streak of red smoke and a hundred thousand specters, causing every ling’qi to lose its effects by contaminating the magic inside. It cut off the blood-bindings between the weapons and the disciples, causing them to lose control of their ling’qi.
That is, if a ling’qi flying sword was. .h.i.t by the yin mine, it would immediately convulse, and fall to the ground, unable to be ordered again.
Only if it was blood-bound again after being cleansed by soaking in water boiled with various yang qi ingredients such as snow lotus and ginseng would the contamination and yin qi disperse and allow it to be used again.
In particular, if a human was exposed to a yin mine for more than half a moment, they would immediately collapse, unconscious. Even those with stronger flesh would be affected due to the fact that not only did it contain toxic qi, it also contained the hatred-filled qi of thousands of souls. It would contaminate every part of a person’s spirit unless one had entered the Divine Realm and become able to use magic to block the spreading of the toxic qi.
This yin mine was very precious because of the thousands of people that had to be killed in order to refine one. Thus, even true disciples of devil sects didn’t have one. Only those unmeasurably powerful Devil elders could refine them, and they kept them for their own use, never bestowing them upon others.
Unexpectedly, this Pink Prince actually had a pellet, and had pulled it out at this critical moment to save his life.
‘Peng!’
The ‘Six Wishes Yin Mine’ exploded, greatly shocking everyone.
Desperate looks appeared on the faces of Liu Kang and Hong Yi.
Fang Han only saw the dispersing of red light revealing the pink light within, before hundreds upon thousands of hideous faces appeared. It was as if the gates of h.e.l.l had been opened, releasing thousands of tormented devil souls.
These hideous faces, they were actually the tormented souls of the ‘Six Wishes Yin Mine’!
‘Hua’la hua’la’.
These poisonous souls surrounded a couple flying swords, and immediately penetrated into the swords, after which the swords fell from the air, one after another. Ding ding dang dang, they landed on the sand, the sound of them landing resonating over tens of li away.
In the world, not even a city of a hundred thousand people could trade for a flying sword, but now, they were nothing more than just a few sc.r.a.ps of metal, completely worthless.
Even the weapons of high level experts, such as Shan’he Ranking Number Ten, Yuan Jian Kong’s silver snake sword, were at the mercy of the many souls. His sword acted as if it were drunk, flying up and down, before losing its ling’qi and falling to the ground, returned to its basic form. It truly seemed to be a long, silver snake, winding, yet sharp and full of spirit. Although it had fallen onto the desert floor, it still kept wiggling, and wasn’t dead like the other flying swords.
Subsequently, thousands of tormented souls floated over, first targeting senior sister disciple Mo before others.
‘A!’
‘A!’
‘A! A! A!’
Numerous screams could be heard as senior sister disciple Mo and the other inner court disciples were attacked by the tainted souls. Their wretched cries were as if they were trapped in a nightmare and drenched with horror.
Afterwards, several inner court companions fell.
As for the ‘Sky Rooster Yang Rope’ in senior sister disciple Mo’s had, it let off a clear light, directly cleansing the tormented souls.
This bao’qi rope was an extremely firm and extremely yang type magic treasure, and was thus able to resist the tormented souls. However, as it was just a rope and not a protective magic treasure, it was unable to protect all sides. In a moment of inattention, senior sister disciple Mo was attacked by tormented souls from behind her. Letting out a scream, her body crumbled and fell, her a.r.s.e landing on the sandy ground.
At the same time, Prince Bao and the other two princes and princesses of the Da’de Empire were attacked, and they also fell, unconscious.
They were only outer court disciples, and didn’t even have a ling’qi. Thus, how could they possibly block the tormented souls sent out by the ‘Six Wishes Yin Mine’?
Fang Han also saw a burst of red in front of his eyes, followed by the appearance of a hideous red face rus.h.i.+ng towards him. The soul wrapped around him, and tried to enter his mind.
In his head, he felt a stinging pain.
‘Pu’tong, pu’tong!’ Hong Yi and Liu Kang who were next to him had both fallen, their minds invaded by the tormented souls. It was unknown if they were alive or dead.
