Chapter 27 (2/2)
Consort Ha looked at Ling Fei’s departing back and she frowned.
‘Your Majesty, isn’t Ling Fei a commoner?’ consort Ha asked. ‘Commoners are not allowed to enter the palace. If people knew a commoner entered the palace, people will laugh at Your Majesty.’
‘Consort Ha, if you have time to criticize me then you would have time to take your niece back to your courtyard since your scheme failed,’ Na Lam said coldly.
‘Your Majesty, it was an accident,’ consort Ha said.
Ha Ka Du didn’t want to believe the person who pushed her off the bridge was consort Ha.
‘It’s good it was an accident,’ Na Lam said suspiciously. ‘Xiao Shun Tu, call the imperial physician to prescribe medicine for Ha Ka Du to prevent her from catching a cold.’
Consort Ha was satisfied with Na Lam’s response.
‘Your Majesty, Ka Du entered the palace long ago,’ consort Ha said. ‘Your Majesty, in consideration she is my niece, you should take good care of her.’
Consort Ha wouldn’t waste her energy on Ha Ka Du to gain Na Lam’s favor if Ha Ka Du wasn’t her niece.
‘I understand,’ Na Lam said coldly.
Consort Ha was satisfied she achieved her goal so she bowed and took Ha Ka Du back to her courtyard.
Na Lam rushed to Ling Fei’s bedchamber. He wanted to check that Ling Fei changed into warm clothes.
In Ling Fei’s bedchamber, Shen Yong was confused why Ling Fei was upset Na Lam cared about Ling Fei.
‘Lady Ling, it’s a blessing to have his majesty care about you,’ Shen Yong said. ‘Why did you want his majesty to care about another person?’
Ling Fei didn’t know why she asked Na Lam not care about her either.
