First published in ”Second Book,” again in ”Later Work.” This drawing, together with the other one of Messalina, drawn in 1895 (see _supra_), two of Bathyllus, and one representing Juvenal scourging a woman (this last, slightly altered, reproduced in ”Later Work”), belongs to a series of ill.u.s.trations to the _Sixth Satire_ of Juvenal.
