Chapter 1998: Maternal Grandmother

At the foot of the mountain, this was a place where one was merely prevented from flying due to the pressures from the outside. Once they reached the top, the pressure would be even more intense and it would be difficult to raise even their legs. Also, the higher they got, the more difficult it would be to use their spirit energy.
“It seems like the top is even able to suppress our spirit energy.” Yan Ya was so exhausted that he was panting.
“If you paid more attention to the regular training of your body instead of relying on your music attacks, you wouldn’t find it so exhausting.” Fei Yi was faring a little better. It was just a little more strenuous to talk.
“Exactly. Brother Yan Ya usually has too much fun playing. You have to train yourself more.” Fu Xi wasn’t panting as he said meaningfully.
Yan Ya pursed his lips. Forget Fei Yi, was even this little guy looking down on him?
Fu Xi was secretly laughing. One of the main reasons why his body was strong was because Sima You Yue had tempered it with electricity. It had hurt a lot back then, but you could see the benefits of it right now. Another reason was because the Mythical Dragon’s energy was tempering his body. Although it was slower, it accumulated over a long period of time and the strength of his body was something that the average person could not compare to.
Sima You Yue and Wu Lingyu were having an easier time. The both of them had soul bodies and also practiced soul arts. This amount of pressure was still not enough to tire them out.
The one who had it the easiest was Huan, Black Shadow and Mo Yu.
Mo Yu seemed to have some way to get rid of the pressure surrounding him while Huan and Black Shadow were disregarding it completely. That was because this did not have a single bit of effect on them at all. When Yan Ya saw this, he was incredibly envious.
The Snow Mountain wasn’t high, but they spent a large part of the day before they finally reached the top. Chan Jiu and the others were quickly losing their patience. If not because her underworld power was too familiar, they would have executed Sima You Yue on the spot.
A few bubbles were released from his palms and the bubbles grew bigger and bigger, enveloping You Yue and the others inside.
“Let’s go.” With a wave of his hands, the bubbles flew into the sky.
Sima You Yue and the others were in the bubbles as they flew inside the cold mist. They couldn’t see clearly inside, and it just looked like fog all around.
She gave it a go and spread her divine senses out. She realised that this cold mist actually suppressed her divine senses and she was completely unable to penetrate more than a hundred metres out.
If there was nobody leading the way and they had to traverse this area of cold mist on their own, they probably would get lost inside.
“You Yue, there are many bones below.” Fu Xi saw the many bones on the ground and cried out to Sima You Yue.
They were not flying very high up, so Sima You Yue lowered her head to take a look. She did see many bones scattered across the ground.
“All these people are those who tried to invade the Ninth Underworld Mountain.” Chan Jiu said icily.
“Maybe these people were coming to you with real issues?” Sima You Yue thought of her Mother. Did she almost become one of these?
“The cold mist can discern the intentions of these people. If they really came to seek help, they would lead them inside. If their intentions were not right, then they would have no guide. Whether they stay here forever or are able to leave will depend on their own luck.”
“What about my Mother?” Sima You Yue asked, “Medicine Elder said that my mother came here many years ago. Were you the ones who led her out?”
“In previous years?” Chan Jiu thought about it and said, “Very few people have come within the last few hundred years. I do remember that there was a woman who came. However, it was Sovereign who went to meet her, we did not see her.”
“Sovereign?” Was that Grandmother?
“You will meet her in a moment.” Chan Jiu said, “Sovereign has sent information earlier on to take you to her once you came.”
“Oh.” Sima You Yue replied as she stared at the bones below in silent contemplation.
Based on what Chan Jiu said, there was a eighty to ninety percent chance that the Sovereign was her Grandmother.
What she couldn’t make sense of was how she had managed to marry the Ghost King and then leave the royal palace? Medicine Elder had said that her Mother had been disappointed after she had come here, so Grandmother must have told her something.
