49 Not a Fly, but a Fat Mosquito (1/2)
Darkness followed.
Before Arata knew, he felt like he was running. He was going fast as if chasing something. Light crept into his eyes, and he found himself in a dark Lumen Park. He would dive into the deepest crevices and thickest bushes just to hide from someone's eyes. He ran as if he knew where the invisible target was, and he was doing it with great accuracy. However, everything was done without his consent; his body moved on its own.
He stopped behind a closed food stand, and pressed himself against the wall. He ducked and peered into the situation just steps away. He saw Keita and Keiko arguing, and the sister was pressing her hand against the cut her brother just made. Keiko was in tears while the brother was infuriated. He would raised his knife against her, but he stopped even before his fist went over his waist.
”Stop crying! Didn't you see that guy?! He cares shit about you!” The brother yelled at his younger sister. ”Stop making a fuss over him! He has no right to be allowed to love you!” He pocketed his knife and grabbed her stinging shoulders. ”How long are you going to stop me from hitting that piece of shit?!”
”You don't get it! He's my... he's my...” Keiko felt to her knees. She had weakened from the cold and loss of blood. She crushed her own body under her hug. ”I don't care if you kill Hamada or that pest Attei, but if you hurt Arata, I... I would...”
”I had given up a lot...” Keita took out his butterfly blade and looked at his sister. ”You're too broken to think rationally. Here, here, Keiko, Big brother's going to help you.” He prepared the knife and lifted his hand overhead as if readying to knock out his own sister.
The body Arata thought was his own walked out of the hiding spot. He felt his hand reach up the side of her thigh under what was a skirt— as if pulling something out of a garter attached to it. Since the gaze was fixed on the two people in front of him, he could only rely on his peripheral vision or the sense of touch. The thing hidden was hard and light; his fingers loosely gripped what he could tell was the handle. It continued to be warm despite the weather so it must be not made from metal.
Before he could fully process what he was holding, he hurled the item towards the man's arm holding the knife. A green thing swooshed and struck itself against Keita's arm just below the shoulder. He screamed in pain as he dropped the knife. The body wasted no time and ran close to the ground to avoid immediate detection. When Keita turned to the source of the blade, the body sprung up and held the sides of his head. The motion pushed the man down to the ground with knees knocking against his chest.
Due to the jump, the body's head landed close to Keita's. The body thought he owned lifted its face to stare directly at the older male's eyes. Underneath the dim lighting, he saw Attori's face reflecting on the beads filled with fear.
She gave a wicked grin, her lips curled skyward by satisfaction. She reached out to pull out the green blade from the man's arm. She lined its sharp side against the man's neck with a plastered smile. ”I don't like the idea of killing someone. It puts them out of misery like it is kindness instead.” She glanced at Keiko just to see what she was up to. ”Putting you in jail would be easy, you know. The school has a record of you already.”
”You bitch!” Keita motioned to use his other arm to grab her hair. However, in a fluid motion, his wrist was kicked to the ground. The girl just used her leg to pin his arm down.
”Listen here. It's over. You're not killing anyone at this rate. Give up.” She used one of her hands to grab the arm where the wound was. Her fingers dug into his cut to cause him more pain. ”Good night!” She even beamed sweetly at the man as she shook the same hand, causing tremendous pain enough to knock out the man. She pulled out her fingers and shook off the blood while looking at Keiko who only froze at the scene before her.
Attori dropped her smile and glared at the girl next to her. ”You're lucky you're a casualty I cannot approve of. Your death will make Arata sad, and I'm just here to make sure you won't think I saved you because I want to let you live.” She used the bloodied hand to wipe the tears off of the sister's eyes, smearing her own brother's blood on her face. ”Now get out of here and change panties. I don't like the smell of your piss.”
Instead of being thankful, Keiko only felt resentment flaring inside her. Without any warnings, she threw her head to Attori's arm and bit into her flesh. Since they were still wearing their summer uniforms, her teeth dug deep enough to make her bleed. The classmate also held the mad girl's arm to it would not slip away.
Only an idiot would try to pull their arm in that state. Attori knew she would be ripping her own flesh if she tried to pull on it. She just watched the classmate bit into her arm. It was painful, and she was willing to subject herself to some more. The mad girl swiftly swung herself around the classmate and got behind her. This alarmed Keiko, but she had nothing she could do as the arm locked her head in place. If she let go of her arm, Attori would be able to use her other arm.
The mad bitch squatted behind the other girl and grabbed the middle finger of her nearest hand. ”I really don't want you dead, but you having a broken finger? Not so much.” She snapped back the finger, sending Keiko to release the arm as she cried in pain. The mad bitch collected her limbs and fluidly twirled to go in front of her. From her pocket, she fished for her phone and turned off the flight mode. Arata's message came, but she ignored it to call for the ambulance.
