Their great-grandfathers made a pact about their engagement a hundred years ago...
udience praised Zed with only their gazes. He bowed slightly and responded with his eyes as well, then walked to Jean.
A big smile was on her face.
Seeing Zed make his way back to the table, she was already prepared to praise him with her own words. However, before she could utter a word, Zed said to her, ”It was very good, wasn't it?”
All her compliments got stuck on her tongue at his blatant self-praise. She rolled her eyes at him and said, ”It was alright.”
”Was the conversation with the waiter alright as well?” Zed asked, sounding sarcastic. He took the seat across from Jean once again, but he did not meet her eyes.
”What? What are you talking about?”
she asked in puzzlement, wondering what he meant.
”The waiter you just talked to. He looked very young and handsome. What did the two of you talk about?”
Realization dawned on Jean and she laughed.
”Ha-ha...”
Jean covered her mouth, trying to stop her laughter from escaping. It made Zed even more agitated. Before, she used to be so worried about whether Zed would cheat on her or not.
Now, seeing how confident she was, he had started to understand Jean's worries. It was not a good feeling.
”He said my smile was beautiful,” Jean said, her lips curled in amusement.
”Damn it, a waiter dares to flirt with my wife. I'm going to teach him a lesson later.”
Zed was jealous, which Jean honestly found adorable.
