Chapter 991 The Heart Canst Always Have What It Wants (1/2)
After Paul left the gym, Zed asked Jean to go out for a meal with him. Jean felt that she couldn't turn down Zed's request, no matter what it would end up being. He had done all he could to protect her today, and a part of her felt indebted to him.
Zed sat across Jean in an exotic restaurant. He handed back the menu to the waiter, mumbling something that escaped Jean's ears. The waiter nodded and stepped back. Then, Zed leaned over to Jean, his eyes glinting mysteriously. ”Jean, please give me a minute,” he said.
”What?” Jean asked in confusion.
She frowned at Zed, not knowing what he was going to do.
”Don't worry. I'd like to give you a surprise.”
With no further words, Zed stood up, and Jean watched as he crossed to the middle of the room where a grand piano stood like a centerpiece. A little girl in a white dress was playing a wonderful piece of music. The notes swayed gently, caressing the ears of its listeners gently.
When she had paused, Zed bent to her and asked, ”Hello, young lady. Would it be alright if I use the piano? I want to play my wife's favorite piece.”
The girl had flawless skin, and the bridge of her nose were littered with freckles. She looked as beautiful as the music that she had played.
The girl looked up to the man and was instantly stunned. He had a mature, grown up charm and the demeanor of a gentleman. For a moment, she just stared at him, not knowing what to do.
Zed waited patiently for her response, although he found her inaction a little strange. 'She's a nice girl, ' he thought. 'But why doesn't she say anything? Is it possible that she's mute?'
He waved his hand twice in front of the girl to catch her attention. The actions had pulled the girl back to her senses. Once again, Zed asked, ”Is that all right, beautiful lady?”
The girl's cheeks burned at his flattery. She tried to calm herself down and said, ”Of course, sir.”
She got up gracefully in a fluid motion, then stepped aside from her seat, gesturing for Zed to sit down.
As she stood up, her eyes went to Jean.
Jean was wearing a red casual suit, with her hair pulle
“Who does she think she is? I won’t marry her even if she is the last woman on earth,” said Hiram Rong.
“Marry into a family with tens of billions of assets? How lucky I am! I won’t be so foolish as to break off the engagement. At worst, I can receive money as part of the divorce settlement,” said Rachel Ruan.
