Chapter 967 Getting Closer (1/2)

Upon hearing what Julie had said, Zed couldn't help but wish Jean could be as thoughtful as her.

”Thank you for the dinner. I enjoyed it very much, and I had a great evening with you!” Julie held her glass of water high and toasted.

Zed smiled raising his glass of water and clinked it with hers. ”Excuse me for asking, why are you staying in a hotel around this area?” Zed asked.

He had bumped into her yesterday and wondered.

Julie frowned and sighed. ”I... When you gave me the large sum of money after you had fired me, I wanted to use the money to buy that hotel that you just bought, to be honest. And I enjoyed working at the J hotel. I thought managing a hotel might be a better career for me. However, by the time I weighed up my options, you had already bought it. I guess it's nice to be rich,” said Julie.

When Zed heard what Julie had said, he felt a bit awkward. ”What a coincidence that you had the same thoughts. It is indeed in a great location to run a business.”

”I can't argue with that. That's so interesting that we both had the same thoughts,” said Julie with a smile and nodded to show her agreement.

Zed complimented, ”You're a great partner to work with.”

”You too. But there was someone who didn't cherish this partnership and had me fired,” Julie said with bitterness in her voice.

”Ah, I guess you have taken it to heart then,” Zed replied. He lowered his head and had a sip of water out of awkwardness.

”Don't worry. I'm not an evil person. I am just teasing you. For the sake of this amazing dinner, I won't hold a grudge against you,” remarked Julie.

She looked at Zed and continued, ”However, if you buy me a drink, I'll totally forgive you.”

”Drinks? Right now?” asked Zed.

”Yeah. Why not? It's getting dark. Don't you think it's a good idea to have a drink in a nice bar to help you unwind? But if you don't have the time, never mind,” Julie suggested tentatively.

Zed had drunk wine last night, so she was sure that Zed fought with Jean again. However, his reaction to Julie today didn't show much resistance. She believed now was the best chance for her to get intimate with him.
