”Look at you! Living your best life in H City. Does that mean you don't plan to stay in Imperial Capital for long? Are you really going to go back to H City with Jean, Zed?” Zack asked with concern. ”Your Grandpa is planning to let you take over the Sky International, right?”

”It's Uncle Simon who wants me to take over the company,” Zed corrected him. ”Kirk wants to become a doctor. Our family business isn't part of his plans. Besides I love living in H City. Why would I come back to live in Imperial Capital?”

”I heard that Kirk's fiancee, Elizabeth can be quite vivacious. You really are popular among the women, Zed! Unfortunately for her, you're married! And you're not the kind of person who's going to cheat on your wife, are you?”

Zack teased, beaming.

”Do you think I will? My life is complete with Jean,” Zed retorted, a bit angry at Zack.

”That's really admirable, Zed. So many beautiful women come knocking on your door and you don't even so much as blink an eye because you have Jean,” Zack praised Zed.

It was difficult to tell what exactly he was admiring—whether it was for Zed and Jean's love, or Zed's loyalty to Jean, or both.

Zed didn't notice the shift on Zack's face. He snidely commented, ”If you have time to dig through my personal life, why don't you focus your energy on trying to figure out the kidnapping? You know... find out who was involved and what their purpose was, perhaps?”

”Well, it's much easier to focus on your personal life than find out who was involved in the kidnapping. If I wanted to find out something about you, I can always ask Jade,” Zack said with a sly smile. ”On the other hand, if we want to find out more about the kidnapping, we would have to dig a lot deeper. It's been days since it happened, and trying to piece together everything won't be easy.”

”I see. So it was why you went out with Jade? To ask about my personal life?” Zed teased. ”Why didn't you just ask me yourself?”

”And why shouldn't I ask Jade? I mean, Jade's wiser than you, isn't she? She is older and more experienced than you are,” Zack explained. ”And, on top of that, do you think it's a good idea that we talk about Elizabeth's crush on you in front of Jean? I didn't want to put Jean in that situation.”
