“Who does she think she is? I won’t marry her even if she is the last woman on earth,” said Hiram Rong.

“Marry into a family with tens of billions of assets? How lucky I am! I won’t be so foolish as to break off the engagement. At worst, I can receive money as part of the divorce settlement,” said Rachel Ruan.

he coffee on the table and walked out silently.

Ten minutes later, there was a visitor at the door. It was Lydia.

She saw Hiram sleeping as she came in. She gazed at his face with blank eyes for a moment and went to the hanger, took his coat and threw it over him.

Hiram woke up the moment the coat touched his body. He grasped her hand and asked groggily,”Rachel, is that you?”

Lydia was wounded with his words. She forced a smile and said,”Hiram, I know you hate me after the kidnapping. But it's not right! We are still family!”

Hiram could be very cold to people, but he had a soft spot for her. They grew up together all childhood. Lydia remembered how he used to pull his face to people as a child, but never to her.

”If I promise to get over you and be nice to Rachel, can you treat me just as you used to?” asked Lydia.
