1855 Obsession 3 (1/2)

Through the mist, Gu Xijiu saw a small pavilion. A person was sitting there. Her heart skipped a beat. In her subconsciousness, she knew that this person was the one she was looking for and surged toward his direction.

Though the pavilion was visibly just a short distance away from her, she could not seem to reach it even after running for hours. She could only vaguely see the figure of the person sitting there, possibly meditating. The person sat there motionless like a Buddha.

She could not catch sight of that person's visage, but she could descry a red box situated on top of that person's knees. Because of the distance, she could not make out the exact form of that box, but she could see an emerald green gem glowing on top on its lid.

Gu Xijiu stood from a distance and gazed at the small pavilion. She felt that that person was not a human, but a jade statue instead. And that person looked to be holding a bracelet that was shining gold and glimmered faintly with the seven colors of the rainbow.

That person kept on staring at the bracelet in a posture that seemed that it would last till eternity! Gu Xijiu's suddenly leaped with excitement! Although that person was not wearing purple, her sixth sense told her that that person was the one she was looking for!

”Hey, who are you?” Since she could not run over there, she resorted to shouting instead.

That person did not move nor speak and seemed to have no intention of looking at her. Gu Xijiu kept on trying to discern that person's face but to no avail due to the thin layer of mist.

She continued to shout at that person but received no response as well. Could that really be a jade statue? Gu Xijiu felt that this scene was vaguely familiar and had an odd sense of déjà vu but could not seem to put her finger on it.

The melody of a flute seemed to sound from the distant darkness. The melody was soft and extremely pleasant to the ears. Since she could not run to that direction, she decided to sit on a boulder and listen to the tune. The melody was oddly familiar. Although it was a jolly piece, she felt like shedding tears for some reason.

After some time, the melody stopped, and a shroud of mist enveloped her. After the mist dissipated, she could no longer see any trace of the small pavilion and the white-shirted person.

She looked everywhere in a daze and found out that she was standing in an abyssal cave. Its interior was enigmatic and haunted by countless noises that resembled the terrifying shrieking of beasts.
